MWE Problems

Post » Sun Aug 14, 2011 8:22 pm

Sorry if this has been gone over before but I'm having some problems with Morrowind Enhanced, When I load the game up it says, " Script MWE_Load Script. Trying to RunFunction index greater than function count. The Script will not run anymore".
Then, if I continue it says to load MWE as it is not loaded, even though it is.

So are there any fixes to this?

Thanks in advance.

There are several MWE esps, but you must have the base esp checked in your load list for any of them to work. If you continue to use MWE, be aware that you should save your game even more frequently than usual and do *NOT* rely on autosave or quicksave. MWE is notorious for savegame corruption and more frequent CTDs.

Thats the thing, the base esp is ticked in the load list.

It sounds as if your load order is wrong. The base esp should load first, before any of the esps which depend on it. Is it before all the other MWE esps in your load order, or after? Please note, the Morrowind.ini file does not list files by load order.

It would be helpful if you would post your load order and your warnings.txt file whenever you have an issue with a mod error. Please enclose them in the code box tags: [ code ] your load list and warnings file [ /code ] without the spaces.

Something called REFR Scan Example is before it.

And sorry for being stupid but I don't know how to post the load order.

Hopefully you use Wrye Mash. If you do, go to Saves tab, select a saved game that uses your current load order, go to the right column, right click on the "File" header, choose Copy List, paste where desired.

Only other way I know of to quickly post your mods is to copy them from the .ini file, but as Elaura said, they will not be listed by load order.

You can also copy your load order from MLOX by right clicking in the list pane, but I'm guessing that if you were using MLOX, all of your MWE mods would be in the correct order already. In the meantime, I think you should check out Pluto's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/. It's not just a mod list. Pay special attention to "What important tools do I need?"

I like Pluto's thread especially because he tells you how to find the info you need.

Must I acess Wrye Mash to do that? What I mean is, do I need to go to where it's installed and do something? It's only I tried to follow your instructions but I must be doing something wrong as what your saying will come up is not there.

Edit : Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, I noticed that mods which require either Bloodmoon or Tribunal say, in their summary in the data files, that "Tribunal.esm / Bloodmoon.esm is required for this mod to be loaded, and it has changed since this file has last saved. You might experience problems with the game". These then don't work proparly even though I have GOTY with both expansions installed. Don't know if it has anything to do with it but I'm just throwing it out there.

That generally just means the mod author used a different version of the expansions when he made the mod. All you have to do is update masters in Wryemash. On the mods tab in Wryemash, select the mod you need to update and right click anywhere in the small list window in the bottom right side. Select update masters and save.

All you should have to do to get your load order is right click anywhere on the main window on the mods tab and select copy mods. Then open up a new text document and paste them into it to make sure it worked. If it did, then you can paste them into the reply box here.

Sorry for this shameful question, but how do you open Wrye Mash? :D Do you just go to (C:) Bethesda / Morrwind / Data Files and then just double click Wrye Mash like I've been doing?
It's just nothing ye are saying will come up ( like the mods tab ) is there. Again, sorry if this is a really simple thing that I should know, but in my defence I'm new to PCs in general, not just PC gaming. ( Got our own PC a couple of months ago )

Edit : @ Elaura, so the mods that require the expansions can be made to work very simply? Thanks, I thought I had a big problem there. ( was aching for Assassian's Armory but it wouldn't work due to that )

As long as you actually have the masters the mods are dependent on, you can update them to work with your versions. You can't run a mod that depends on one or more masters if you don't have them at all. You're fine with GOTY, it has both Tribunal and Bloodmoon.

As far as wryemash goes, what exactly is in your morrowind folder that says wryemash on it? Is it a shortcut, or an .exe file? Wherever wryemash is installed, there should be a folder called "Mopy". Inside that folder is the executable for Wryemash.
