[REL]MWInhabitants: Pickpockets!

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 7:23 pm

Great to know this isn't a bug, and that this mod seems very adjustable!
Can't wait for more releases from you! Congratulations!

Well said, Lucifer Jones.

In his other thread, he said he quit modding Morrowind and is now only doing Oblivion mods.

Would you be opposed to someone else taking up the torch and making the various addons that you have mentioned for Morrowind?

scruggsywuggsy the ferret, Fliggerty ===> Well said, gents. It just does not get any better than that.

scruggs - Thanks for all your contributions to TES III. I have always been impressed by the creativity, willingness to push the supposed envelope and your perseverance to make it work. Lots of truly creative projects 'die along the way' - yours got made. Thank you. :ribbon:

there's an optional time limit. you can configure it however you want - if you choose, the items will never vanish. or you can set up the pickpockets to steal only gold. it's up to you.

@Ronin: i was just having fun. but i'm glad people are still enjoying the mod.
Fliggerty, let me know if/when you do decide to work on an addition to MW Inhabitants. looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Just a suggestion.... You might want to make the default so that there is no time limit on recovering items to avoid confusion or loss of important items.

:scratches head: i can't remember what the default settings are, actually. that would have been the smart thing to do, though. the plugin was released 7 months ago, though, and i uninstalled MW soon after that. so i don't really plan to change anything at this point, sorry.

Well I think I discovered a script error, or a bug.

I just got out of jail from tripping people with the grease arrow, and the little kid who always yells "Mister mister! wait up!"
runs up to me, but nothing happens, I try the use button on him to talk to him, but nothing happens.
The message is probably letting me know i 'killed' someone, because the guards shout "MURDER!" when they fall on the grease.

I haven't played this, but something tells me you were looking for the Oblivion version of this mod, not the Morrowind version.

Thanks for posting the readme. :)
I don't have Word installed on this PC atm.

You can download Word Viewer (as well as viewers for other MS Office formats) from microsoft.com somewhere (Freeware).
Still, it's always a bad idea to distribute documents as .doc.

@Mod: sounds great, I'll try it.

Because this is lingering far too close to the end of the world forum, where things fall off forever ...

Those of you who have used the very old beta version of MWInhabitants, don't be scared: these pickpockets are completely rescripted. You can customize 4 aspects of their behavior, including spawn frequency, speed (relative to player's speed), what types of items are stolen (any items, or gold only), and toggle the time limit for recovering your stolen items on or off.

Well, yeah. :) Now, all we have to take is kidnap Scruggs from Oblivion and bring him home, again.

When trying to repair a corrupted savegame by using the "repair all" function of Wrye Mash, I get the following error:

MWInhabitants ? Pickpockets!.esp has bad refs and must be repaired first.

Example Bad Ref from MWInhabitants ? Pickpockets!.esp:
Cell: [6,-6]
Object Id: a_siltstrider
Object Index: 199111
Mod Index: 1 (NO SUCH MASTER)

How do I repair bad refs? :hehe:
