MWSE, MWE, MGE, MPC....sure hope you know our acronyms :)

I use MWE sometimes, MGE with the internal version of MWSE, and the MCP so I voted for all four. Second question MGE of course, and third question N/A since I do use them.

I would like it if all mods that required MWE could run with MGE instead, and also so that mods that require different versions of MWE can run together.

use mge with included mwse and mcp now.

was a time when I used stand alone mwse but that was quite some time ago,ran mwe briefly but it was only shortly to try out some mods that needed it.

I don't use MGE because my computer can't handle it. But as technology advances, 4Ghz processors will become cheaper and cheaper. So maybe by 2020 or so.

Same here. :)

I've been using MWSE for a pretty long time and now I can't even think of playing Morrowind without.
I was a bit in awe at first, but I've never had a problem with it (actually, I think I've experienced a decrease in problems with Morrowind since I've started using MWSE).

MCP is another great application and another "must have" for me.

I've tried running MWE along with MWSE, but I've had too many problems, so I had to remove MWE.
Have to say, were someone to make a mod for MWSE that allows you to write in game (like Journal Enhanced does) I wouldn't miss MWE.
I don't play Morrowind a lot, lately, so being able to write down what I'm doing in game would be a BIG help! :)

I have no interest in the Morrowind Graphics Extender.
I use the Morrowind Code Patch in all games.
I would use the Morrowind Script Extender if the right mod required it.

One reason I use MGE is because I can't get the console to work with my computer without it. Also I don't think it lowers performance if distant land is turned off.

As long as distant land is turned off it shouldn't lower your performance at all.

I use MWE only for journal enhance and writing enhanced. I understand that its the cause of all my save problems but, as someone else said, I need it in order to keep me in character. I wish I could use an MWSE equivalent but thats not possible yet.

I use MGE w/ internal MWSE. I used to play with Distant Land turned off, but now that I have upgraded my computer I usually play with it on. But I turn it off from time to time.

I use A LOT of MWSE mods. I've even modified some mods to utilize MWSE functions for various reasons. The Romance Mod to set PCsix without going all the way to Seyda Neen and a few others. I love it and I can't wait to see what new features may be added whenever MWSE gets updated again (please add a way to make an MWSE version of journal enhanced.)

I've been using the MCP since it was first released. :) Never looked back.

With MGE set up within the limits of a particular system, there should be no effect on performance. Unfortunately, right out of the box (so to speak) MGE has default settings which are not supported by all graphics cards. With knowledge of how to do it, MGE can be scaled back to suit lower-end systems, but without that knowledge, a user wouldn't necessarily know if their GPU supports Anistropic this or Antialiasing that. MGE is extremely configurable and you can certainly shut off features that tax your system too much . . . *IF* you know what they are.

BTW, this is just a statement of the facts as I know them; your mileage may vary and I'm not attempting to convince anyone to use MGE; however, I would certainly recommend checking out your GPU capabilities and the settings in MGE before determining that your system "can't handle MGE".

Actually, anymore, you can't turn everything off, so MGE always has a performance hit if it's present. The slowdown increases, roughly exponentially for every checkbox you click (due to the number of things being needlessly repeated).

It used to be true that you could and there was no difference, but now there's a few things you can't disable (the DX 8.9 layer is the most notable, but has a minimal FPS hit). There may be others, I'm not sure.

Actually with MGE's settings out-of-the-box, anisotropic filtering and antialiasing are not enabled by default - all default settings are configured pretty much the same as what stock Morrowind allows, so any dx9 card that can run MW will be fine running with MGE at default settings (distantland is also disabled by default). Enabling distantland causes the biggest fps hit and will require at least an sm 2.0 card when using the current releases (v3.8 and above).

The latest beta revisions allow disabling all MGE functions while still keeping the built in MWSE enabled. MGE extended scripting will not be available tho, so MGE specific mods will not work while MGE functions are disabled.

I use MGE for distant land, and recently I finally got the settings for distant statics just right so I can now enable them without taking a massive fps hit. I won't play the game without MCP, and since I also won't play without Melian's Teleport Mod I use MWSE as well.

Matoya, melian's latest release of the teleport mod now works with the internal MWSE in MGE.

1.2 [snip] Revised readme (thanks to Ashryn_the_Vampire for letting me know it works with the latest MGE!).
1.3 [snip] Added 'debug mode' to main plugin (writes debug messages to MWSELog.txt), so there's no longer any need for a separate version.

I use MGE w/ MWSE enabled. So many mods require it that I can't imagine not using them. Like Blasphemous Revenants, Vampiric Hunger's Blood Bar and Yacoby's watch mod. There is also a handy ingredient storage sack that makes gathering ingredients so easy. Distant Land is nice too. Makes it so I don't have to look at my map as much.

I also use the code patch. The map and character sheet enlarger is worth the price of admission alone. But it adds so many more things as well.

I would love to use MWE for the Journal & Writing Enhanced mods but it just isn't stable enough for me.

Why does MGE require MWSE...?

I don't have MWSE and MGE runs just fine....what am I missing out on?

It doesn't as far as I know. What I meant is I use the MWSE version that is built into MGE. I do this because I'm too lazy to start up the standalone version before playing. Double-clicking is hard work.

It doesn't, read http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1124821-do-you-need-mwse-to-run-mge/ for more.

I always play using MWSE and the code patch. I only occasionally use MGE, however.
My computer is a laptop with Vista, 1gb RAM, and a rather pathetic Intel graphics card, so I can't really get much out of MGE, sadly...

I can use it for other things though, like extra button macros, setting my resolution beyond 1024x768, and it's built-in MWSE support.
I rarely bother, though.

I've never really bothered with MWE.
I already have MWSE and MGE, and it does seem to be really unstable, so I passed on it.
