Im impressed, realy nice guide. Thanks.

Yeah lose the yellow. Only those with monitors turned way down can see that. Mine is set up for photo editing and is quite accurate and I have to hilight all the yellow.
And thanks, nicely written.
I tested it and yes alt > solo. I tested exp ratios and did extensive experience testing to confirm it during last beta.
This brings a question to me, if I have a high elf character, can he craft high elf armor for say my breton dragonknight to wear?
I don't see the point of passing the items to a friend...just dismantle the weapons yourself.
And no, you don;t need tools from harvesting materials....its automatic.
nice post myyron, thank you for that. Most things are pretty clear - though I personally do not think, they will leave the xp curve as it is now - a cap IP gain for your current BS level is needed.
I was a big fan of ESO's crafting model...until I read that. If you're right (and I assume you are), then that might put the nail in my coffin for ESO. That is the STUPIDEST crafting idea I've ever heard.
To the learlier question of alts, michaelelf2780 is right. I double-checked with my guild and extracting an alt's crafted gear gives you the full IP gain, so if you plan to put skill points into both toons, alt > solo.
Also, sorry for the yellow. It was originally white, and I quickly added a color to make the questions stand out. Heli0s, my grandfather was colorblind too, so I was originally avoiding red and green. I'll update it to a different color later tonight when I have more time.

I softened up the colors a bit. Hopefully, for a beta guide at least, it'll do for now.
Technically, extracting stuff an alt made works too, but to continue doing it until level 50 means you're committing to putting skill points in your alt's blacksmithing...so you'd basically be levelling two blacksmiths at once. I'm going off of the top of my head, but iirc, extracting your own level 14 white-quality iron (anything) yields 60-something IP. Extracting someone else's/an alt's level 14 white-quality (anything) gave over 200 IP. The difference was about triple the IP, so that was the logic behind swapping with a friend (or using an alt). When it takes over 10,000 IP to get a blacksmithing level, the loss of IP when extracting your own gear adds up quick. Ten extractions alone is over 1000 IP lost when doing it all yourself, and I know in beta I was extracting 30-40 of my own daggers at a time for a while. I probably could have been 1-2 BS levels higher by the time beta ended had I partnered up when I look back on it.

I totally agree with your thinking, sir. But I will maintain that this is an incredibly stupid model.
