Upon reaching Chicago, the Enclave are immediately confronted by the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel. Recognizing their hated rival the Enclave decimate all Brotherhood they meet. The initial Brotherhood scout team sent to meet the Enclave are quickly reduced to goo piles; and soon a much larger force arrive to confront the deadly new refugees. Outnumbered 30 to 1, it would seem the Enclave's end is imminent when high-ranking Brotherhood arrive and declare a cease-fire. While the cease-fire is active, the Brotherhood marvel at the superior, and advanced technologies that the Enclave possesses.
Soon these prominent officials demand that the leader of this "Enclave" show himself at ounce; lest his entire group be demolished. Autumn arrives and the two organizations begin diplomatic relations. And after 3 days of discussion, the Brotherhood decide that the Enclave are a too great a threat to their power and issue an ultimatum ; "You will either assist us and teach us the secrets of your technology... Or you will all perish." Seeing no other choice but to help them, Autumn agrees.
"Very wise choice Mr. President. The Brotherhood look forward to a long, and mutually healthy relationship with the Enclave. As for those scouts you killed, we'll forgive and forget that. Now if you will, come with us."
The Enclave go with the Brotherhood and soon arrive at their headquarters, Bunker Alpha. Autumn meets with Barnaky, now a part of the Calculator, and is briefed on the current situation. Autumn is exceedingly happy with what he hears and promises full Enclave support of Barnaky and his mission.
"I will leave my best and brightest personnel with you to help assist in any way possible. My scientists will be most useful in helping clear humanity of it's many mutations and find the most effective ways to eliminate the mutant scum. My engineers will be most effective in teaching you the ways of our technology and helping to produce more of it. My combat officers will also be useful in shaping up your already capable army to the utmost standards. Now as for the youth and most senior of my group both in rank and age, they will be coming with me to a discreet and secure location within the city of Chicago. I refuse to give it's location at this moment, but rest assured that in the near future you will know it's location."
"That is all very swell Mr. President but how do I know you won't run off?" Barnaky responded
"Hahaha. Now I don't mean to insult your intelligence in any way General, but why would I run off and leave my brightest minds with you? Taking with me only the youngest and most senior of my already small group would in no way be a wise choice. I simply want the Enclave to retain a private place to call home; my people have already lost much and I have already gave much to you. All I request is that my people have their own place to call home. Rest assured this will not be the last you see of me."
"Very well Mr. President, you may go and take with you those who we have agreed to." Barnaky responded briefly
"I and the Enclave thank you General. From this point on we shall be called the Enclave of the Brotherhood of the Midwest. May our future be a grand one." Autumn replied as he began to make for the exit
"No we shall not." Barnaky said before Autumn could leave
Autumn stopped and replied, "Excuse me?"
"It's not catchy enough, Mr. President. I was thinking more along the lines of The Brotherhood-Enclave of the United States of America." Barnaky said with a certain sound of slyness. If he had a face he would have had a winner's grin.
"Very well General. I rather have it no other way." Autumn replied happily
His hands in a parade rest position, Autumn slowly walked out of Barnaky's room. As he reached the exit his face had an immensely pleased smirk to it. In his head he recited "Rebuilding America's future today... By any means necessary."
