Mysticism was my favorite magic skill.

Post » Thu Aug 26, 2010 6:34 pm

This isn't meant to change anybody's mind, or get Bethesda to put Mysticism back in, or anything like that. I just wanted to take a moment to say that Mysticism was awesome.

A school dedicated to the weirdest and most subtle effects of magic. A school for the weirdest and most subtle of mages.

I'll miss you, Mysticism.

That is all.

Um, all the spells will still be in Skyrim. They just switched them to different skills because the name was dumb.

Um, all the spells will still be in Skyrim...

This.

Nothing changes, except those spells won't be under some category named Mysticism, so unless you were just really attached to the name, you should be fine.

sad story bro
but you still have the spells, they just got rid of it so all the skills would be even 7 in each group I think

Just because there is no one teaching mysticism does not mean that it has disappeared for good - it plays a very strong part of lore - I for one would like to see it's return if there is ever a story set in Summerset Isles - there is a good connection between mysticism and the psiijics

I think of it as how they rearrange the scientific classifications of animals sometimes, or how they deemed Pluto to not be a planet anymore. None of the changes in classification change what the animals or planetoids actually are in reality, but merely change the description of them, just as all the Mysticism spells now have new labels.

Well, I knew all the spells will still be there. I'm just sad that I can't specialize in it any more. Mysticism won't be my highest skill. There will be no Mysticism Perks.

I don't know, Mysticism used to be a thing, and now it is no longer a thing. I liked it being a thing. Get me?

Nope. You're complaining for no reason.

Best response. I feel better :)

I liked having Mysticism as a school, but then again, I liked having Thaumaturgy as a school also.

Stop ruining his point with your "facts".

The point is that we can all agree that it's the name change that bothers us. We want to make our character a "Mysticismer", now the character will just be "A mage who knows a bunch of speels from unrelated schools of magic-er".

Mysticism was indeed a cool name :D
I'll miss the name a bit. It was always my favourite magic skill except for destruction.

Its more than just a name, its the lore. The "Old Way" as the Psijics refer to it. I guess I wont be able to properly RP one of them in Skyrim, that stinks.

How did you RP a Thaumaturgist in Morrowind?

?

What are you talking about? I RPed a Psijic in both Morrow and Oblivion. Psijics used the 'old way', the 'old way' is mysticism. Plus you could RP a thaumaturge in any ES, all you have to do is perform miracles, since thats all thaumaturgy is.

children weren't in Morrowind or Oblivion, I think they are more important than a school of magic in relation to the universe
