MYTHIC ANIMALS

================================================================================
================================
I was walking around my heavily modded oblivion game and I was wondering why the animal textures never matched up to the awesome landscape upgrades (qarl's, UL, ect). So I decided to try my hand at it.

(you can find my creature retexture pack at http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29569)

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file(s).
2. Delete the files/folders associated with the mod.

Incompatibility
===============
Any other mod that replaces the animal textures.

Thank you for the release, great textures. Can't wait for goblins & ghosts, if you intend to retexture those.

Wow you really work fast. Great work keeping up the pace.
Sort of off topic, but where did you learn to texture? I intend to start doing some texture work as well. Maybe try to make one or two of my own texture replacers since AmpolX suddenly decided to pull out for whatever reason.

Just by doing it, really. I have previous experience with photoshop but that isn't really necessary.

It's best to texture with nifscope open while resaving every so often so you can check your progress. Also always back up everything you do. I can't count how many times I've had to circle back and redo something because I felt like changing a minor detail a week later.

OK, you're right. The wolf and crab do look much better ingame. :twirl: Thank you so much for covering all the creatures and animals that most modders overlook. We can match them with all the other beautiful texture packs out there. :goodjob:

And another thing, I downloaded off one of the mirrors last night. So when I try to endorse just now TESN won't let me because "You have not downloaded this file." :sad: But I have the file right here! Oh well, downloaded the low res version from TESN so I can endorse later. Even though I got the high res last night. :rolleyes:

So what's everyone thinking of the texture packs so far? Anyone else try them out in game?

I've added the Hi Res textures to my game and they are beautiful. I downloaded the pack from the mirror because I couldn't wait to try them, but also got the Low Res Pack from Tesnexus so I could endorse. :) It very much deserves the extra download and besides I know someone who can use them since their computer won't handle the Hi Res Pack.

Both this pack and your Mythic Creatures compliment the game well and add a lot to the immersion. It took me ages to find animals using a vanilla test character, so I haven't seen them all, but I will go hunting. I usually use FCOM so these will fit in nicely and the old vanilla textures won't stand out as much.

The pic is my lion companion. I love the texture.

Thank You,
