[RELz] Mythic Madness

Sheogorath's minions have gotten the Mythic treatment (well most of them anyway). Due to some technical difficulties/ lack of time I'm releasing this semi unfinished. You'll notice the knights of order and the flesh atronarch have been left out, but everything else seems to be covered.

Cheese for no one! That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese.

Are the file paths correct?

In the previous release of the mythic gatekeeper, you had the path as "meshes/creatures/gatekeeper", but this one has a file path of "meshes/gatekeeper/"?

:::::expletives::::

Ugh ... you'd think i'd be able to do this by now ... :banghead:

reuploading. I forgot about the creatures folder ... so if you already downloaded ... install the individual creature folders (ie grummite, gnarl) into the folder labeled "creature" NOT directly into your texture/mesh folder as my file path suggests.

(Currently doing Addiction quest)

I think probably where you really knock it out of the park is the normal maps. So nice!!!

Thanks mate. I think you asked about your characters out fit, the cuirass is one of my textures (mesh by alienslof). I believe the chitin is helborne's awesome set, which he let me include in vvardenfell imports.

Edit: The file structure has been fixed by the way.

I have downloaded and installed this. I thought Mythic creatures was excellent and I still use it. As you said, the SI creature textures are better than the Oblivion creatures but I am hoping to see some improvements - hopefully without dropping FPS. Thanks.

Thanks! I obviously know I shouldn't get caught up on downloads or endorsemants, but I tend to think some of my work is "under appreciated".

More screenshots showing off the wonderful textures

Unfortunately the creatures are all dead and bloody, I kind of need to remember to take more action shots

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/8499/deadwaters1.jpg

http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/1569/deadwaters2.jpg

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/3622/deadwaters3.jpg

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/1333/deadwaters4.jpg

Then it just pulls out more, I think I'll post the rest in the Scenic Screenshots thread since it's hard to show off these textures when they're like all of five pixels in the background.

Loving the textures!!!!

I'm glad to see this released, I haven't gotten to Shivering Isles yet with my current character, but now I can rest assured knowing that when I do so, the native fauna will also get the same treatment you've given to the original creatures in your other texture packs.

http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/7678/incrediblemythictexture.jpg. (it's actually dead so I haven't yet managed to get some non-bloody shots hehe)

Look at that texture work! The vibrant colors! The attention to detail! The exquisite normal map! Such beautiful definition! Exclamation points! ...!

I'm probably going overboard with the complements, but I really truly am constantly impressed by the textures. Like, preview screenshots are just incapable of representing how great they look in-game for some reason. Maybe I'm just easily impressed, but Mythic Madness somehow came out better than I expected, and you know me I've been hyped about it since almost when you started work on it.

Anyway, I actually had an idea having to do with all of the Mythic textures. I was thinking about how it's been so long since I've seen the vanilla textures for all of the animals and creatures in my game that have Mythic textures. And while I'm more than happy with the Mythic textures, I'm always looking for added diversity in my game (which is why I've got like three or four NPC clothing mods installed so pretty much every NPC has a unique outfit, for example). Thus I thought about creating a mod that would consist of added creatures with the Mythic textures rather than just the Mythic textures replacing the vanilla ones. The basic idea is that the Mythic creatures could be placed in leveled lists with their vanilla counterparts, so that, for example, every one out of three times or half the time or whatever a Mythic version of the creature spawns instead of the vanilla one. The Mythic version could of course be a beefed up version of the original instead of just a straight copy, so that in addition to seeing a different texture every one out of x times you'd also face a more challenging battle. Anyway, I feel like it's a pretty good idea, but I don't have the skills yet to do the mod myself. It seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to implement though. I'm curious how the god of creature texturing feels about it of course.

Photoshop isn't working anymore :sadvaultboy: and my life is going to get pretty hectic in the near future, so I'm more or less retired from modding. My last task is uploading a final version of Vvardenfell imports (people are complaining about megaupload) and I've been mulling over making a farewell thread with some pictures and such. After that I'll return to the ether from which I came.

Thanks man. I worked really hard on this project (started it mid november if I remember correctly). I'm glad people seem to be appreciating it.

Hey, just wondering if you got a chance to read my idea here:

I suppose what I'm wondering is, should I ever decide to try to make such a mod myself, would I have your blessing to use your creatures?

Also I choose not to believe you're going to leave Elder Scrolls modding for good and return to the ether. I won't let it happen!! You won't become formless and immaterial on my watch!!!!!!

Yeah of course. Rise, TheMythofPalidoo!

May you spread high def, excessively texture-seamed creatures to all corners of Tamriel.

My only comment on the project would be that marts monster mod does something similar, so either you replace on of those added creatures with the textures or you try to make the mod compatible.

As far as my departure, who knows. As of now it looks like I just won't have time to mod anymore, but this isn't the first time I've retired from modding so who knows.

I always recommend your Mythic series to anyone who will listen. The news of your impending retirement from Oblivion modding has seriously unmade my day. That said, as much as it pains me to admit it, sometimes life does have to take precedence, and I hope the hecticness you are experiencing is the good kind. Crossing my fingers you will find some spare time somewhere in the future.

Well personally I just hope you'll still stop by the forum now and then. Also once there's a Skyrim modding forum hopefully it will svck you back in ha ha ha

(I'm actually really confused about what to do when Skyrim comes out since I came to Oblivion so late and there's so much I want to do I'm afraid Skyrim will steamroll over all of my Oblivion plans should I get too distracted by the new shiny toy)

Anyway, for the mod idea, I think installing MMM was another reason I got curious about what the vanilla creatures looked like, ha. But I would try to find a way to make the "Mythic Diversity and Integration" mod compatible with MMM, and if I couldn't do it with a single esp I'd likely make a special version for MMM. Even though I've got a half dozen viable mod ideas I want to try out eventually I wouldn't surprised if I'm actually able to complete this one; it seems like it should be simple enough and pretty fun. Of course my game's already crazy diverse with creatures, using both WAC and MMM (and then your textures making me wonder what vanilla creature used to look like), so in my case if I was using a mod like this one I'm proposing I might not even encounter a single instance of that Mythic version of the creature that comes up one out of three times (or whatever) until I've been playing for quite a while, just due to there being so many different added creature types in my game. BUT! For more basic vanilla setups, I can see a mod like this being a really really awesome addition, nearly essential, when someone wants a little improvement and twist to the creature encounters rather than major additions. Or they can just install the textures lololol

I can't download Vvardenfell Imports because it is hosted on megaupload. Is there anywhere else it is hosted with permission? I didn't know you had made this mod before now. It looks wonderful, like your other mods I already have,

You can always get Vvardenefell Imports as a part of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35369. I prefer getting equipment while I'm out ~adventuring~ so I've http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2827/stylish1.jpg.

I'm going to try and get a final version of Vvardenfell imports loaded on to the nexus servers. Until then JLLO sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for this mod Myth. I read through the last 10 pages and went on a downloading binge. I'm in the middle of installing them and it's taken me a bit over 5 hours :|

I downloaded all your Mythics and the Akatosh, Dagon and Madness retextures. I'll endorse once I have time. I can't believe your stuff isn't more popular because it's fantastic.
