Mzinchaleft hard?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:17 pm

Is it just me or is this a REALLY REALLY hard area? I was doing fine, killing all the bandits and stuff, had a few parts where I was in slight strife but I pulled through without dying. However when those Goblin like creatures entered the picture they really do some SERIOUS damage to me! Does anyone else have an issue with that area, because I find that quest to be really something else! I've died about 20 times in there when i got to goblins and I've not even found what I need to find I'm sure you know what it is I just don't want to spoil it for anyone.

So yeah, any tricks or ways to complete that quest easier because I'm having a LOT of trouble, I'm already over half way I think so I don't think I'll go back now... What level were you when you tackled that quest?

I have only played that level on novice and apprintence(?) so it was easy, but the end was really hard, did die some times :P Playing on adept now i find everything challenging.

What level are you? Falmer can be tricky, especially at lower levels.

Oh, yeah I remember that place. I was about your level, on Adept. I ran away half way through - they are pretty hard at the lower levels.

Worst case scenario, turn the difficulty down a bit. Ill go through Mzinchaleft for Mjoll(?) after I get this last trophy for my platinum. You could try sneaking around them instead of fighting them in open combat. Ill go through it on my 81 spellsword on master, see if they're are a lot of falmer or not. Sneaking ought to work, so long as you don't get detected. If you need to, go south-east of riften and look for the shadow stone.

Yes.
Falmer should be tricky but managable around level 20-25.
Easy at level 40.

It also depends if youve been there before or not, as the first time you enter a dungeon it is level locked.
Dungeons have level ranges and will lock closest to your level.
For instance, a level 10-15 dungeon will lock at 15 if you enter it at lvl 20, but lvl 10 if you enter it at level 7.

It may be that Dwemer ruins have wide level ranges. I dont know, but I encountered a Dwarven master sphere around level 35.
It hurt.

It's not so bad if you have spent some time smithing and enchanting. It's all about where your skills are and your level. Falmer, as mentioned above, stomp lower level characters with ease. Plus, it seems like their weapons are always poisoned.

Well I just kept my distance from them with my Dunmer Assassin and sniped them with my bow. Also had a follower to give me a hand if things got tough. The most difficult part was the end boss, after I landed some sneak hits on him I ran up the tower to lose aggro and sniped him from there, also had my follower tank him as long as he could,... eventually he went down!

you can also get a set of Falmer armor there!

THERE'S A BOSS??? Okay I give up I'm going back, there's no way I can get much further at level 14... I struggle with the Falmor as it is, but a boss would just destroy me! :( I should have taken Lydia with me, i decided to fight alone I think that was a big mistake.

I was a pretty high level when I went in there. When I first came across Falmer I was strong enough to roll right over them so it wasn't too hard for me.

Mzinchaleft was the first Dwemer ruin I cleared at about your level. It was pretty easy imo, so long as you "sneak, snipe, hide" with your Bow. The boss looked like something from a metal concert when I first entered the room, plus it's too big to follow you everywhere. As far as I recall, it never spotted me even once.

Use Benor from Morthal to help you loot the place, because he can carry a fair amount of crap to sell/store.

The boss will destroy you there. You're best bet is too get out of there and go level up some more, and come back later. I cleared it out at about level 28 and it was pretty easy, but the end boss was a challenge. And if the Falmer are killing you now, you don't want to fight the Falmer who wear armor (Nightprowlers or something).

Leave and come back later.

In general I think the Dwemer ruins are the hardest dungeons in the game.

Deadly traps, the mech guardians are tough, the Falmer are tough. They're just not nice places....best loot I've found in any dungeon though!

But yeah, Mzinchaleft, Alftand and Raldbthar were the toughest Dwemer ruins I found...

Falmer with bows using ebony or deadric arrows make me nervous as the Charus Reapers.I already saw a Charus Reaper on the surface next to the swamp forest(snow area) killing 5 poor Horker's.

Mzulft with a level 8 destro Mage felt like I was playing Dark Souls even at Adept difficulty. I was up all night and still didn't finish the quest yet.
