name length?

in OB it was to a constant annoyance that you only could have very short names. would you like to have an option to have long names?

Since I'll want to make a ridiculously long and impressive Scandinavian surname, possibly supplemented by a nickname: yup.

You do realize that for example American or British surnames become longer too, when you add another name to them? Right?

Anyway, I personally couldn't care less about name length. I've never really wanted a name like Leliandantalusbaloosa, or GermanFishermann14516 or something like that.

I wasn't clear enough, it seems. What I meant were long patronyms like they're still being used in the Faroese and Iceland. Like Skalla-Grímr Kveldúlfsson. I think it becomes hard to get this in that box even without adding some sort of nickname for fun purposes.
LOL Tdroid, just keep sending them this way?!
By the way, no one of you seem to get that I want to have the possibility to make something up that wouldn't do in real life. Now relax and be good.

Define "hate". I just kinda countered your "adding first names to surnames to make them longer"-post.

Anyway, let's stop this Scandinavian-discussion immediately.

What's the fuss. All I did was think of a theoretical situation in a fantasy game (you know, eveything's possible ) and that the OP's suggestion could render this theoretical situation possible. Other than that, I apologize if you don't like Norse examples, even if we're talking about Skyrim. PM me if you want to state if and where I wronged you, I wouldn't like that.

Nords like the Earth's Indian people have long names in general, like "Hrothgaar the Iron fist", but in the end, I do not care either ways.

Yeah, I found it a bit irritating that I couldn't give my Orc characters proper names.

I want to be able to name my character Urbag gro Malog.

I never had this problem with character names, but I did have this one class I made based off of a D&D prestige class, called a Shadowbane Inquisitor. I was rather disappointed when I couldn't get the full class name.

I hope they make the names longer, as I want to name my Ashlander Ahhe-Adiirbaal Kaushibael (yes, he is a descendant of Julan).
