Name my Orc!

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:07 pm

My main character is a Breton. I played him for more than 100 hours and there are only a few perks I probably shouldn't've picked. I always prefer the best defense: Not getting hit, and when I do I wear heavy armor and hold a sheild. Generally I seek decent restoration but in this game I can go without.

Orc armorers are prized for their craftsmanship, and Orc warriors in heavy armor are among the finest front-line troops in the Empire, and are fearsome when using their berserker rage.
As of now, I created an orc for their amazing berserk power. For now, I called him Mr. Smith.

Say hello, Smith! http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4087/screenshot139d.png

I haven't a clue what to call him. Something cool and orc-like. Something that has meaning. Do the orcs have their own language? If they do, perhaps we should a few words together that's orcish and call him that.

update- Malak gro-Nagorm is my personal favorite. I like the lore behind it. Any objections?

There was only one orc in Daggerfall?

Gortwog Nagorm

Also interesting:
Orc family names are always prefixed depending on gender, "gro-" for males, and "gra-" for females, and are followed by the father's or mother's name, depending on gender.

Haha, keeping the last name definitely. Still thinking about the first one. It can be tricky when all of the names sound completely foreign. Great suggestions everyone.

Until then, I'll change his name to Smithy Gronagorm. Or is it Gro-Nagorm?

I still say An Orc Named Sue is entirely logical. Think about how much of an ass-kicker he'd grown up to be!

Umbra Dugum was on the list. O_O

Umbra gro-Nagorm is sounding awesome. Just verifying that Umbra is an actual orc name...

Amazing. Check this out from the wiki: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Orc

Gortwog gro-Nagorm created the second incarnation, sometimes called Nova Orsinium, in 3E 399.[12] He gathered enough power to force Emperor Uriel Septim VII to formally recognize Orsinium as an equal of the other lesser kingdoms of the Iliac Bay region.[4] During the Warp in the West, Orsinium was one of the four kingdom to gain control of the Numidium, conquering the surrounding kingdoms and baronies and swearing loyalty to the Emperor.[13] Early in the Fourth Era, Orsinium was once again sacked by the Redguards and Bretons and presumably eliminated, and many Orc refugees were escorted to Skyrim by the Imperial Legion.
