Hi guys

I've been searching for a book I read about 4 or 5 years ago, but the author and title escape me. Please, if anyone knows what it is called I would be ever so grateful at clearing up this mystery.

The story basically surrounds the detection of neutrinos that, by their pattern, appear to be alien communication. The detector is in an underground lake, and the people called in to work on it end up trapped inside besieged by nasty people, with someone inside their group also being on of those nasty people in disguise. Religion gets involved when news of the discovery finally comes out, with people claiming the aliens must be demons, etc.

It is both rubbish and really good, and I would love to give it another read, but for the life of me I cannot find it and Google is letting me down big time.

Invasion?

I think there was a movie called Invasion that sounds like this.

No aliens actually appear in the novel, just communications. It's not Contact, either. Thanks for the suggestion though.
