Named Saves?

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 12:28 am

I haven't seen this discussed. Will we be able to "name" our saves? Make it much easier to paly/track multiple characters.

I personally hope for a system where each character gets his own save bar, like in Mass Effect. Far easier and far less chance of overwriting something important.

I have no clue but that would be a very helpful feature... i cant even begin to describe how many times ive accidently saved over an old character. :banghead:

If not the save will be named after your character with a screenshot and current play time.

I miss that from Morrowind. The Oblivion system made it difficult to create Waypoint saves like at the beginning or end of a faction or major main quest stage.

At least on the PC we could use the console to create a named save.

I Really hope Bethesda includes this, I usually have 2 Main characters, a JoAT and a Roleplaying character, I can't even count how many times I have deleted saves in previous games.

If its anything like oblivion, then the name you give your character will be the defining feature of the save.

At the very least on PC you can just find the saves, and copy important ones to a safe location. Or even create a folder for one character, and swap files in and out as necessary. Not ideal, by any means, but it works with any game you have access to saves on.

I worked my way around this in oblivion by always saving while looking up on my nord account.

And always looking down on my breton.

And looking straight on my orc ect.

I swear they confirmed that there would be separate character saves. Idk about the naming your saves part but I am very sure they confirmed separate character saves.

Not everybody uses a PC. I prefer my XBOX to the PC, mainly because my PC can't handle the game.

^ this.

As for our fellows xbox users I can't see how they are supposed to type a name in anyway.

And since the game was built for consoles, it may not have even been a concern for the PC version.
