Naming Settlers on Command.

it would be nice, if when you tell a settler to do something, it changed from "Settler" to "Farmer" or "Guard" or "Weapons Dealer" , "Barmaid/Bartender" , "Cook" , etc

it already does that for the settlement supply line person.

that way as the settlement grows, you can easily see who is doing what, and who needs a job...

and the provisioners.. to see where they are going, add Ten Pines, etc to the name...

As posted in many threads, give them a custom gun or armor piece named after them and what they do (eg "Bob - Tato Farmer"). Then all you have to do is trade with them.

Also, if you go into Workshop mode and select them , whatever they are assigned to will be highlighted.

For me it's farmers get cloths and guards get armor. You could just go with a type of hat for farmers and still give them armor but their person defense level does not really play into the defense rating nor their ability to fight off raids. I still do most of that so just having the farmer in clothing and guards in armor give me a quick reference for their assigned tasks. If you have trouble getting them to equip stuff you trade them, there is a button in the interface that tells them to equip the gear you want them to use. The same goes for followers. They no longer just pick the gun with the highest damage or armor with the highest defense. You have to tell them to use what you want them to use. That escaped me for the first couple of days.

I started putting all my farmers in various jumpsuits, my guards in minutemen outfits, and my shop owners in suits.

Yea, having the ability to rename villagers the same way you can rename items would be awesome.
