Nano wheel thread

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:08 am

I don't think there's been a dedicated nano wheel thread yet?

Sure, the nano wheel is still there. I tried to play through half the game with it and ended up using buttons instead. Why? Not because the nano wheel would be worse than the buttons, but because the nano wheel in Crysis 2 is totally broken!

Sometimes it actually gets STUCK! And I'm left only being able to walk forward, sideway and back, getting my ass handed to me.

Even more common, is that it won't revolve round properly. Veteran nano wheel users from Crysis don't move their mouse round in a little circle, we just press the middle mouse button, then move the mouse in the direction of which power we want. But in Crysis 2, I feel I have to circle it a few times, just to get it responding properly. Almost as if it needs to be 'warmed up'.

Oh, and another thing. When the suit energy runs out, nothing happens when you press the middle mouse button. It shouldn't be be like that, imo. The button should activate the menu, but the powers should blanked out in red. At least you wouldn't be looking in anther direction that you don't want to be looking in, just because you haven't realised there is no energy left in the heat of a moment.

Seriously, if it's going to remain so utterly broken, I think they should just take it out now entirely and stop pissing on the beloved memory of the much cherished nano wheel.

I have had this problem too, but I thought it was my mouse that was broken. Interesting find and thumbs up from me.

I didn't think the Nano wheel button worked at all. I used it all the time in Crysis. But in Crysis 2 when I click the wheel button nothing happens at all. No suit menu even appears.

I checked the key setting and it is correct.

Having this problem as well, where the wheel wouldn't respond correctly. It's especially hard to get to the bottom options (suit and weapon upgrades) for some reason, and it takes extra precious time to circle around to get it to respond.

On more than one occasion I've deactivated cloak mode on accident while surrounded by enemies just because I wanted to put a silencer on my gun.

The wheel in Crysis 1 worked perfectly, I could choose each option within nanoseconds by reflex. This one in Crysis 2 is just absolutely broken sometimes.

Nah, it's definitely not your mouse, it's the game.

Well, all I can say is it 'works' (badly) for me. You wouldn't want to use it anyway though, in its current state, unless you wanted to have your ass kicked.

I've been playing Crysis 2 today. I don't know how many patches the game has had, since I made this thread. But the wheel seems to be fixed, for what it's worth.

dude no one uses that anymore get a gaming mouse with side buttons and assign your suit modes to them i have armor to mouse wheel button (so i can activate armor mode and fire at the same time) , nano vision to front mouse side button, cloak to back mouse side button, it makes a huge difference takes a day to get used to but u will be faster in the long run trust me.

I do have a gaming mouse. And yeah, I use the buttons, not the nano wheel, for Crysis 2.

I was simply mentioning the fact that it's fixed now.

The buttons are alot faster to go in and out of stealth and armor. never like the wheel in any of the crysis series. Just my opinion. but i wish people stop saying the game is dead. its not dead use the filter and you shall see alot of players still play the game. more the the PS3 does LOL. bad joke feel bad for my son going on a month without playstation network is killing him. he now plays crysis 2 on my pc.
