Assuming the nanosuit wearer isn't an utter moron and is actually trained in sneaking up on people, the SPARTAN will suffer a rather quick death thanks to a knife shoved in the back of his neck.

PS: SPARTANs are Space Marine ripoffs.

the comparison is flawed

a Spartan II soldier is not "just" given a Mark V armor like a Marine is given a nanosuit. a Spartan 2 is genetically engineered and cybernetically enhanced on TOP of the power armor he wears because a normal human being simply cannot use the armor without breaking thrown limbs. They also have emotional agumentation and conditioning that renders them even less human in that respect.

that said

if we took SIMPLY the nanosuit VS the Mark V armor then the Nanosuit has the ungodly advantage of being self repairing and it heals the user without the need of external supplies to be injected and stored into it but the physical boosts are higher with the Mark V They both allow for invisibility but the Mark V requires an outside mod to achieve that. The Mark V also lacks different vision modes -which svcks- but it's internal mainframe can hose a whole artificial intelligence and hack into systems. I'd still go with the Nanosuit tho

Assuming Armor Mode is as tough as the Shields on the Mark V then the Nanosuit wins the cake in firefights because it can repair itself and the Mark V cannot

then again John 117 has survived an orbital re-enty with only minor damages to its suit (it just needed a reboot of the main systems.....) whereas a nanosuit soldier falling off a bridge onto rocks simply almost does not get up at all after

If 117 lived through an atmospheric reentry with almost 0 suit damage, then why, pray tell, can the puny plasma guns the Covenant use kill him?

"cutscene power to the max" I suppose

also remember......"luck"......john 117 was, according to cortana, the luckiest of the spartan II's

then again remember also that the Nanosuit can be insta-frozen my a molecular arrestor and not shatter from thermal shock immediately while protecting the wearer entirely from bordeline 0 Kelvin temperature.

so if we really ignore the whole "re entry" thing which can also be attributed to the "metal grafted to the bones" issue with the Spartan 2 agumentation I would still go with the Nanosuit

Nanosuit...no "invisibility boost" = no invisibility for the Spartan

Nanosuit can use invisibility by default

What does luck have to do with the implication that handheld weapons generate more heat than the plasma sheath of an object reentering a planet's atmosphere? The bloody thing is hotter than the surface of the Sun, assuming said atmosphere is roughly as dense as ours; if your weapon generates that kind of heat, the fact that anyone's shooting at you will be the least of your concerns.

no my point was that a "normal" spartan 2 in MArk V armor would have died but John did not because, as you can hear cortana say while he plummets toward the earth, he is lucky

LoL that cartoon with Johny, that was just funny cartoon nothing more. And if we speak about ppl falling from the sky you should talk about force of impact rather than amount of heat taken while going through atmosphere ^^ On way or another Nanosuite nor spartan suite can't reduce impact force of that kind, so psychical body inside suite can't survive so huge shock and cells in body will simply break.

Sub Zero vs Zangief, does it make any sense treating different game-logic as if it is the same?

in terms of how the story portrays the mjonir armor (the books anyways), the shield can take sustained fire from small arms fire for a very long duration without making the shield even blip, the same weapons can and will break the nanosuit. The MC armor is indeed far superior to the nanosuit overall with regards to the fiction.

However, gameplay wise, a nanosuit soldier would just tear a mjonir armor wearer to pieces.

regardless even according to the in universe sources (like the novels) the strength boost of a Mark 6 is a factor of 5...how much of a fator is the nanosuit 2.0? ..being able to heel kick a car forward sounds more than a factor of 5.....

Here's the specs on Nano V2 and MJOLNIR armor.

Accessibility: Nanosuit V 0.2 easily. MJOLNIR needs chemically enhanced users with years of insane training that were specially picked at 4-6 years old. Nanosuit, you can just strap to a half-dead Marine and he'll become humanity's savior.

Enhancments: I have to say MJOLNIR. While the Nanosuit is impressive in its modes, the MJOLNIR has them on all the time. Re-energizing shields, power jumps, can run at (based on books) 24 mph, instant reflexes, and can house a battleship's AI that can provide any info you need on the fly. Nanosuit modes are separate, and even though the healing and invisibility is nice, it is still much weaker than the MJOLNIR armor. And the MJOLNIR has a motion tracker.

Armor (Without shields): MJOLNIR. I don' have time to describe all the layers of the MJOLNIR, but the aforementioned orbital reentry should easily put this argument to rest. The Nanosuit is also strong, but it is more like a nano tech kevlar vest.

Strength: It's a tie as far as I can tell. In Strength mode the Nano can take as much as the MJOLNIR.

Power Source: Since we don't have enough info on the Nano's power sources, I'll give this one to the MJOLNIR, because I doubt the Nano has a frickin' mini fusion reactor in a backpack.

Speed: Tie if Nano is in speed mode (basing off of Crysis 1).

Environmental Capability: MJOLNIR. It has an air recycler that can last an hour and a half for space missions. Nano and MJOLNIR both have a temperature regulator. Nano does have hydro thrusters, though.

Verdict: If I could, I would take the MJOLNIR hands down, but since I would shatter every bone in my body trying to use it, I'll settle for the Nanosuit 2, which I love equally. In short, the MJOLNIR Spartan Armor Unit is like a real Spartan; strong, brave, and runs headfirst into battle. The Nanosuit is more stealthy but weaker, which is a standard trade off. I love them both.

If only certain abilities could be added from the different spartans like that one woman who could run like 40 or so miles an hour.

Nanosuit.

Spartans are little more than marines on a fancy suit. Nanosuits are fancy suits that can actually do something useful asides from soaking up damage, so those users will have the edge.
