Natal Use

I disagree, I want to be able to smack the Skyrim eqivalent of the Adoring Fan.
It would be awesome to reach down and pull your weapon from it's scabbard, swing it, block, feint, dodge, and attack. Walk when you explore by foot.
People are always talking about immersion, Kinect, IMO, is answering the need for physical immersion.
Got the kids a Kinect for Christmas, playing it is a lot of fun.

Exactly most of our point. You got your KIDS Kinect because that is who it is for. ES is not for kids. What games did you get? Dance Party? Kinectimals? None of the games that have Kinect support are even as deep as Super Mario RPG for the SNES. We don't want physical immersion we want mental and (for some people) emotional immersion. You want Kinect? Make a control scheme. Show me how you turn, how you regulate speed and if you are going forwards or backwards. How you get accurate aiming with bows or spells. Do that and I will never enter another Kinect thread again.

BTW all of the other 96% of us who hate the idea, you guys should just avoid these threads too. Vote No in the poll so they get the pure statistic truth but don't reply because it just keeps these threads in the top boards.

Tell that to Killzone 3 and the new Steel Battalion in development.

Move works great with hardcoe and casual games, Kinect not so much, kinect is more limited by the fact it has no buttons, worst accuracy and lag, and no input controller. Funny the OP never mentions mopve which would be much more practical then the joke that is Kinect. Sad thing is, looking at MS lack lustre lineup in 2001, seems more kid kinect games on the way, meanwhile Ps3 users are getting a tonne of top AAA Exclusives.

I'ma PC gamer. That said, I don't want the devs to waste time on natal project.

It looks cool though, but not for TES. Please let me play my RPG the classic way.

NASA is looking into i

remember star trek next gen? The holo deck
you were the controller there
kinect is just the first step towards that
and I would love a real life holo deck

What is Natal?

Natal was its name when it was in development. Now its called Kinect. Its an interesting piece of technology, but they have a long ways to go before it can be implemented in a game such as this. As it stands now it should not be implemented in any way....perhapes once they get the technology fine tuned enough for it to be used in a game like this where it is both fun, well done, polished and used in the right way... then maybe. Right now I don't know how they would use it in a way that would not make people extremely annoyed.

I just don't want Skyrim to become something like wii sports.
If it doesn't interfere with combat mechanics or interaction with the world, the only way I can find possible utilisation in the game of a camera peripheral is if the camera senses the amount of light in your room and adjusts the game's brightness and contrast at real time.
But that would be somewhat pointless.

LMAo, Kinect is a limited gimmick, its amazing how easily people fall for MS advetising brainwashing. The games are terrible for it because it is very limited and is NOT new tech at all. Its a gimmick, and is NOT the future, the tech of the future will be a lot better then ,the limited kinect.

Natal and Kinect are cancer for AAA games.

Indeed and if anything even remotely like it comes to TES games it had better be full f***** virtual reality. Anything less would be a slap in the face.

umm nobody is clever. i know it's kinect i just wrote Natal cause it came off the tongue that way, or if u think ur really clever and have caught me again, then it's just which buttons my brain told my fingers to press. and im obviously not talking about every action you do in the whole game like an action for drinking, eating, walking and whatever else. KINECT can be used to do something like put your face into the game, or maybe get you through some type of mini game that are popular in RPG's these days... Bethesda has said they will be using KINECT, which was NATAL when they said they'd be using it. that could mean though that a game being developed by them will use it not necessarily ES or Fallout.

Elder's Scrolls don't need crappy mini games with Motion control support or even any at all. As for importing your face into the game, all the times I've seen this implemented in the game the characters just don't look right, and really just seems like a gimmick to me.

Agreed. If they were to somehow have that, and say I have it take a picture of my angry face, grrrr, and it somehow gets my smile right when I have a happy face, then sure.

And I don't want Kinect.

It's not Natal anymore, it's called Kinect.

And no! Just no! Hell no! It would be the worst idea EVER!
I will hunt down each one that votes "yes" :toughninja:

If motion controls of any kind (save perhaps for some tangential, gimmicky content like adjusting your body proportions with your hands or something like that) could kindly stay away from my most beloved gaming franchises (a list which for me TES is at or near the top of,) I would be most appreciative.

I require - call me crazy! - some means of moving forward, back, and side to side, and looking around while playing my games, thank-you very much. (Hybrid control schemes incorporating a controller are a possibility.... someday.)

I vote no too but I don't understand why everyone is being so negative about kinect. Its not perfekt now but no tecnology has been perfect in the beginning.
When the color television came out, everyone was like "hell no, its not necesarry" and "I want to watch my news in black and white", but today we cannot live without it. We are in a field where tecnology is so essesntiel, so being completely negative and flamy about something is just wrong, maybe one day Kinect will be so good that people cannot imagine a TES without it, But untill Kinect gets better there's a no from me too

I wouldn't say that I feel negatively about Kinect in and of itself, per se. It's just that by its nature, it would force any game in which it took a fundamental role to dramatically change in terms of gameplay. You can't move forward, back, left and right, or look around (unless maybe it incorporated head tracking I suppose) without a controller, or a mouse and keyboard. Kinect is a great, promising tech in my opinion. I can foresee a lot of games coming out at some point down the line that really take advantage of it to create experiences you just couldn't have without it or with any other interface. And I think that's great. Just not - in my opinion - for traditional core gaming. And since that's what I want TES to remain, I have to steadfastly feel a sense of "Oh god, please no!" when it comes to the thought of Kinect being a fundamental part of the experience in any way.

That said, what I WOULD like to see some brave developer try, is creating a hybrid system combining head-tracking and some limited body motion tracking with the controller, so that we can have things like RPGs that play traditionally but are augmented by what Kinect can do. I really, really want to see what someone out there can do with that.
