I see it being used in some silly gimmicky throw-away feature that will be ultimately irrelevant. Kinect's control interface is so esoteric that it is unfeasible for a multiplatform game like TES5.

Skyrim production started before Kinect was even announced so theres no logical way it would be implamented. I also feel if they did add it that it would be horribly tacked on and be sloppy as all living hell. Bethesda wouldent do that since I would hope they take pride in the quality of their games...especialy their main series

I would like Kinnect for home decor. It has to start small. In time Kinnect could be a boon to any first person title

Natal? It's Kinnect now... and have been for a long time. :whisper:

Who thinks Natal will be used? I highly doubt it. Just dosn't seems like something Bethesda would do.

Who wants Natal to be used? I don't, that's for sure. If anything, i think Move has more potential in a game like TES but i hope (and expect even more) that they will focus on keyboard/mouse and joypad.

How should it be used? other (pls. explain). I just said that i don't want it so what do you think? :tongue: But seriously, i could see the potential in minigames and maybe even inventory. Maybe one day Kinnect will be much more relevant but everything i have seen so far shows that Kinnect is good for nothing but party games.

Kinect should not be used for The Elder Scrolls Series.... But, a 3-D Immersion experience with virtual-reality and physical movement sensory similar to Kinect but nearly flawless.. Yes... Yes... Find one... Yes!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................................

Please no!

The last thing I want for my favourite franchise is to fall into the way of Xbox..and kinect. Seriously, dungeon running with kinect? Can you imagine doing the hokey-pokey to attack a troll in time before it rips your head off? Just no.

I'm a PC gamer, thus my comment about the 'way of xbox'. I was dissapointed that TES IV was Xbox, and I really hope TES V adds more support for PC gamers....we were left with a clunky interface to cope with because of the port. I want to see gamesas put some hard work into the PC gamers. I hope both platforms will be available at launch and that PC gamers are fully cared for....I don't want yet another UI designed for buttons and not a mouse. >:(

I don't think Kinect or Move will ever be utilized for serious games. It would be too much for developers to work around.

So stepping outside the box is just too much for developers?

No, it's just that Kinect wouldn't quite work with it. It is good but not good enough to be utilized in more complex games. It would require a lot of improvements and it would be a pain in the ass to make all features of the game work with it.

Take an FPS game for example. How would that work? Would you go around running on your living room to move your character? Would it be easy and would it recognize well motions like pulling the trigger or reloading the gun? The kinect camera has really low resolution and it can't recognize the smallest movements like your fingers or the quick movement realized by your hand when "reloading" the gun.

Or an RPG like TES. Imagine how would you for instance open the inventory? Or walk? Or grab objects, or cast a spell, talk to a character, activate something, and a bunch of other things. It's too much complexity and data for the Kinect to process.

I think it would be awesome. Throwing your hand out to cast a fireball? Yeaaaahhhh!
I hate it when people think of Kinect as a controller REPLACER. I think of it as an add-on. Personally, I would love to be able to reach out my hand to pick up that Pitcher in Oblivion, and place it perfectly how I want to. Instead of the Z key, or B button. I'm sure it won't be used for Skyrim, although I would love it to be. I voted for everything except combat. I dont want to flail my arms out to swing a sword, and I dont want to take a in-place jog. Or move a treadmill out infront of my 360. Nooo way. Character customization? Idk really. I voted for it, because I'm sure somebody could come up with some interesting idea's. Maybe have a, basically marker, that you could 'draw' your own scars on the character's face or body. Mini games? Who DOESN'T want to learn how to lock-pick: The fun and impossible way! And I already explained world interaction (picking up items). Maybe even giving the finger to NPCs you dont like, and their disposition going waaay down lol. All wishful thinking though.

Natal = Xbox only

Skyrim = Crossplatform

Just as Wii games don't port over to the Xbox, Natal games won't port over to the PS3 and Playstation Move games won't port over to the Wii.

Natal is a gimmicky, useless waste of money... and all it will be used for for the next few years is in tacky sports games and perhaps in minigames for its novelty. I doubt we see it at all in Skyrim, especially because 3/4 of Skyrim's development was pre-Natal.

You mean you use a controller and Kinect at the same time? How is that supposed to work?

Personally, I would love to be able to reach out my hand to pick up that pitcher in Oblivion, and place it perfectly how I want to...

Don't get me wrong, that sounds intriguing to an extent, but quite frankly the Kinect isn't capable of that. It's just a gimmick in Microsoft's attempt to compete with what Nintendo got started years ago.

MS has basically looked at the Wii and at what Sony was planning for the PSMove and said 'We'll go one better!!! Full body capture motion support!!!'

Just like those fellas that built that Caparo car that was faster and more intense than any other car.......and burst into flames at every corner.

All you need to do is go to Best Buy and see how it turns heads. Kinnect is already big. It already sold 2 mill. I could think of good designs for it. The main thing it needed to really kick off was dancing game and it already has a high rated dancing game.You could make mean RTS game with gestures and voice command and if you can do RTS you can do iso RPGs. Firstperson will be tough. We will see.

Natal looks cool, but it's still in its baby stages. Give Natal 10 more years development and it might be acceptable in a TES game, maybe TESVI or TESVII.
I still would like to be able to see myself actually slip my limbs into my clothing and armor, as opposed to just dragging and dropping. But technology isn't that advanced yet in any game anywhere.... not even in Japan... I don't think. I dunno, those Japanese are a lot more advanced than Americans though.

Well in that case, it would work- because raising your Athletics and Acrobatics skills would look like nothing other than a very intense dancing game.

Swimming could get a bit funky, though... :P

Nope. I haven't played one, but my friend has and says that the tech isn't quite there yet. Maybe in a future game when all the kinks have been ironed out it could be quite fun, but I'd hate it if you had a new way of playing that was hit-and-miss or generally just a bit frustrating.
