Natal Use

Post » Wed Apr 27, 2011 9:01 am

I voted "other". I think it should only be used when my character has to take a dump. Basically the device should have to be on the floor on a 90 degree angle and be facing towards the user then you can initiate "movement".

Can people please stop using the "Bethesda shouldn't waste time on this" argument for everything?

Bethesda is a part of a very large publisher, thanks to their huge sales of Oblivion and Fallout 3. If they can't spare the time to work on relatively minor things like kinect, move, microphone or 3d support, then they really need to lay off their project managers and get some people who know what they're doing.

I always make my characters look like me, so if anything for me it could be used to customize the facial features, so I don't have to spend an hour like an idiot looking at my face in a photo or a mirror and playing with them pesky bars...

TES isn't a fantasy CoD, it just wouldn't fit, there are too many buttons needed to function the game

I don't even know what the COD remark is supposed to mean, you can't play COD with kinect...

1. I cant see an in depth or hardcoe game ever being made for the Kinect. Like an RPG or a strategy game.

2. Even if they did, a few games like this wouldn't warrant a purchase of the Kinect.

3. I would rather just use a controller.

Can we please just put this discussion to bed?

If the polls are any indication, NO ONE WANTS KINECT IN THEIR ELDER SCROLLS!!! The Kinect is geared more for "on rails" type games anyway, and an Elder Scrolls game is anything but that.

Besides, I don't want to hear the words "kinect" or "hockey" for a looooooong time. :banghead:

I was just saying that it isn't a first person shooter game with minimal controls, it would be too hard and annoying to utilise a kinect remote for an RPG (Journal openning, grabbing, attacking, blocking, looting)
versues a FPS (Shooting Gun, Shooting Grenades)

I think it might make a battle scene more realistic, but they would need footpads or a thumb only joystick built into a hand held device for moving throughout the game world.

It still doesn't make any sense, both COD and Oblivion use all the buttons on a controller.

Wiimote technology

The Kinect uses completely new technology. The Move on the otherhand...

Argh, no... Unless properly implemented. And that means from the bottom up. And I doubt that devs had access to Kinect/Natal when Skyrim development started.

The only place where this would be cool is in combat. But it would be more of a hazzle in overall. Since you can't really move you character around using Kinnect or Playstation Move. That would mean moving your character around, running into a combat situasjon, putting your gamepad down, then start waving your arms around. If you could move the character with your brain, then yes, this would be awesome. But that's not likely to happen.. Perhaps in Elder Scrolls 15 or something.

"No" "No" and "Other"

"Other" being "Not at all"

Kinect would never work with a TES game, period.

I don't know if you all know who http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw&feature=related is, but he was hired by Microsoft to work on project Natal a few years back.

Youtube has a video that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J_eBRgvx_4&feature=related kinect using head tracking. Head tracking could work while sitting down and using a standard controller.

No! OH GOD NO!

But seriously, Kinect should stay the hell away from the Elder Scrolls.

I disagree, I want to be able to smack the Skyrim eqivalent of the Adoring Fan.
It would be awesome to reach down and pull your weapon from it's scabbard, swing it, block, feint, dodge, and attack. Walk when you explore by foot.
People are always talking about immersion, Kinect, IMO, is answering the need for physical immersion.
Got the kids a Kinect for Christmas, playing it is a lot of fun.
As for commands, you simply put your hand into a specific position and navigate through prompts.
TES + Kinect, I want very much.
