Natal Use

Post » Wed Apr 27, 2011 3:09 am

i think bethesda said at one point they planned on using Natal in some project(s), so i'm wondering if ppl think they will, if they want them to, and if they want them to then how would they like it to be implemented.

No! OH GOD NO!

But seriously, Kinect should stay the hell away from the Elder Scrolls.

It's not Natal anymore, it's called Kinect.

And no! Just no! Hell no! It would be the worst idea EVER!
I will hunt down each one that votes "yes" :toughninja:

Ignoring the fact that Bethesda would have to devote a significant amount of time and resources to implementing it properly, I've yet to see evidence of how kinect is going to work with anything beyond family games.

I mean, considering all the neccesary actions the game requires (walk, run, jump, turn, pickup, attack, inventory, interact, spells, hotkeys, etc) how would it even work?

The only way I can see if working is if Skyrim was seriously dumbed down. But if Xbox users who want Kinect support also want to have a dumbed down version......

I don't think Kinect or Move will ever be utilized for serious games. It would be too much for developers to work around.

No, No, Other: No.

OP - you're pretty behind, aren't you? It's called "Kinect" not Natal anymore.

I seriously doubt Bethesda would use Natal for one of their core game series, like the Elder Scrolls. And that’s a good thing. I can’t see any way that using Natal would benefit the game experience. Plus it wouldn’t make any sense to dedicate a large amount of development resources and time for something that would only be used on one platform (really a sub-platform, considering Kinect only has a user base of a few million, most of which aren’t TES fans or core gamers).

umm nobody is clever. i know it's kinect i just wrote Natal cause it came off the tongue that way, or if u think ur really clever and have caught me again, then it's just which buttons my brain told my fingers to press. and im obviously not talking about every action you do in the whole game like an action for drinking, eating, walking and whatever else. KINECT can be used to do something like put your face into the game, or maybe get you through some type of mini game that are popular in RPG's these days... Bethesda has said they will be using KINECT, which was NATAL when they said they'd be using it. that could mean though that a game being developed by them will use it not necessarily ES or Fallout.

I read the topic as Naval and opened this thread expecting deep and complex discussion about the use and implementation of belly buttons in video games
suffices to say I'm sorely disappointed.

That would be fracking funny if Kinect was used. Imagin walking or running from one end of Skyrim to the other. I bet all those people who hate Fast Travel would want Oblivon style fast travel in the game, if you had to walk/run all over the place. :P

No. For the last time, no. (of course, this won't be the last time this question is raised)

I think it should be used in a "not" fashion.

The only way it should be involved in Skyrim, is if it makes any attached Kinect explode, severely wounding the owner.

Tell that to Killzone 3 and the new Steel Battalion in development.

If bethesda brought out a tech demo like they did with Oblivion but this time showing off the kinect features - I would kill myself. I'm serious - I would commit suicide.

While I find the idea of any game of remote seriousness using that crap gimmick rip-off of the Wiimote technology, it wouldn't really affect me since I don't ever plan on playing Skyrim on any console, let alone the Xbox 360.

Link me to where Bethesda said they are going to use Kinect.
It's just stupid man, to use in TES that is.

Kinect will never work with hardcoe games, it only works for casual simple stuff. The only thing good I like about it is the wonderful things people can do hacking that technology. It should never be used for gaming, only for experimental and new stuff.

Where were you when I had the time and resources argument with some other guy...and his bf, those who support it say it's innovation I on the other hand say it's conformity.

Silvade this basically says Bethesda will be using Kinect. it's not a direct statement from them but it may as well be, unless gamespot and the ppl behind Kinect are playing a funny joke?

Bethesda Softworks, not Bethesda Game Studios.

That means, they are only open to publish games that use Kinect, not that they are using it.
