Natural disasters in Japan

"Substantial rise in the frequency of small seismic events... there's been a sudden spike of both frequency and intensity in the last few days."

O.o

In all seriousness: Poor Japan.

Im not trying to be funny or anything but it really isnt the place for humour at this time.

Is it just me or are these natural disasters becoming alot more Frequent with regards to the Mudslides in Brazil, extreme floods in Asia, Australia etc

There has to be some meaning behind it, if they are becoming more frequent surely its reasonable to assume these disasters are foreshadowing something else.

Forget that film 2012, that is Hollywood and fake. Although part of me now thinks that it could be entirely possible and that our governments use Hollywood to make the idea seem rediculous as a psychological subliminal guard against mass panic so people act complacent and think nothing of huge natural disasters like this.

This Quake was 8.8 - 8.9 on the richter scale and for any of you who know how the measurements work every 0.1 is a massive increase in power. The last big Kobe eartquake Japan had measured 6.8 on the richter scale but this one was over a hundred times as powerful.

^Yeah, remember the one in Indonesia? The 9.1 one? Of course you don't. You won't remember this one either, in about two weeks, so feel free to get off your high horse about not making jokes.

Every single time this happens. Some big disaster is shown on TV, everyone gets their panties in a twists, starts whining about the poor people but doesn't lift a finger to help, then promptly forgets about the whole thing as soon as it stops being gossip of the day. Where's your **** care when thousands die each day of starvation, cold, heat or lack of clean water?

You've got friends? Too bad. It svcks, honestly, but you're not a special case. Fun fact: those other thousands of people who die all the time? They're someone's friends too. Doesn't change the fact that everyone only gives a **** when they see this stuff on TV, and only to feel better about themselves, promptly forgetting about it when it stops being interesting.

You'll probably care a while longer, assuming you really have friends there, but you'll still forget it as soon as everyone gets over it.

It is unnecessary to fight over such a matter.

I am paying my respects to the people in Japan and am hoping that the inhabitants will find their families and loved ones.

It is sad what happened there and i hope ( and pray ) everyone over there is ok , i live in California and went through the landers quake ( though i am about 50 miles away from there i live right next to palm springs ) and i can say a quake above 7.0 is horrific.

X2.

This kind of event is never good no matter where it is. The folks in China are STILL recovering as are the folks in Sumatra. .. man, that was in 2004... seems like it wasn't that long ago. :\

It is very clear you are a disgruntled, sarky, bitter little human being who cares only for his own self existence looking at the comments you have made, quite frankly human filth like you disgust me.

Oh yes the 9.1 that was ACTUALLY in the indian Ocean NOT idnonesia, (educate yourself aswell) that happened on boxing day in 2004 and wiped out thousands of lives including some local people from my Country and was all over the news for weeks on end and showed untold devastation. Also the story about the boy who saved his family because he recognised from geography class that receeding water = incoming tsunami.

I know a great deal about that actually, its something you dont forget. Im still firmly on my high horse, you can attempt again to drag me off it if you feel the need. knowing your type on the internet you piece of scum you wont be able to resist.

I dont normally loose my rag at people on the internet or what they have to say but a piece of **** like you has to be told what hes worth, you truly have presented yourself as the lowest of the low, a true piece of trash. Your human filth, go and brush up on your **** morals and humanity you uncooth, insensitive ****.

I'm not even going to bother. You're the kind of retard who turns into a bleeding heart white knight to make himself feel better, because he feels like a dike if he doesn't bich about the stuff he sees on TV. You don't actually give a **** about the disasters, no one does. You just want to show the world you care, like it's going to matter to anyone or make them think more highly of you.

By the way, nice job on reading the article I linked.

JackPumpkinhead and T4S KR4KKEN, keep your hatred outside please, we don't need it here.

Also, I'd suggest to change the thread title, this is not exactly a funny matter. But still, my hearts go out to everyone in Japan. I'm praying everything goes well from here on in. Plus, Japan is like my favourite country.

You people are way too serious. And, yes, while it may be a serious event.... people do die. Things get washed away. This just happened to happen on a great scale, with great intensity. So we will mourn, and we will rebuild. I will mourn and rebuild when I have to, when a category five hurricane blasts my state into oblivion.

But there's no reason to get stodgy and fussy over it. There's no reason to start cursing and flailing about for something half of the world is hypocritically whistling "I'm glad it wasn't me" to. I was fine to just post a link to the website and give my opinion, which is easily summarized by: "Poor Japan." **** happened. **** will happen again. **** will happen to me. I'm sorry for those it happened to, and I'll be sorry when it happens to me.

But I'm not going to dramatize. In fact, I'll look on a brighter side and make a joke, instead.

So if you either want to post your comments civilly, or have the mods lock this one down, it's really up to you. Play up your sensitivities at your discretion.

Its not even funny how **** thick as **** you are.

I dont need to feel better, I already feel great as a human being.

Your the idiotic reclused minsanthrope who thinks he is being true to himself and standing apart from the crowd by saying you dont care.

Its not a matter of caring whatever way you put it, its showing remorse you malcontent idiot.

Thats the thing that gets me about human beings, everyone thinks when you make an outward statement its to garner the attention of others rather than to project your own feelings on the matter.

Your post does nothing for you, only shows your a baseline idiot who pretends "not to give a ****" about anything because you think it gives you a superior feeling like you have no worries, your a sad deluded little piece of filth

Damn, you're about as good at figuring people out as you are at reading. Have fun with your life, boy. Don't worry, everyone thinks you're such a good person.

By the way, I'll leave you with this bit of irony to think about:

[...]thinks he is being true to himself and standing apart from the crowd by saying you dont care.

your a little forum nerd, you cant ressist can you?

How in anyway is that ironic when im descibing you and then describing why you were targeting my perceptions of this crysis, pardon the pun.

Whats ironic is how you have the "I dont give a ****" attitude yet you keep coming back to this thread to posr in it, thats what is truly ironic.

your a moron of highest degree, you better bump that cushion up on your office chair so you can see the stupidity your tpying.............

P.S quit drooling on the keyboard.

Frome scale 2 - 3 its x33
The power on 7 is like 800'000 kj or something like that.
8 is scale 7x33 and so on.. In increases ALOT
The power of the earthquake in kobe was 1000x stronger than the hiroshima bomb. And that was like scale 7
imagine what 8.9 is...
