NBA Playoffs

Honestly I like both teams in this series but I want the Mavs to win.Kidd and Dirk are two of my favorite players and they deserve a championship before they retire. All the other big stars still in it have plenty of time win one.

Ugh. The Mavs were lucky they pulled that off -- Being out rebounded, what 50+ to their pathetic 20 something, is no excuse.

And Rick Harden fouling out was the turning point in the fourth quarter. It's like their entire offense took a seat along with Harden on the bench. Terrible, just terrible, decisions were made by the Thunder on both sides of the court.

One last thing -- What was Scott Brooks thinking on that final play in the fourth quarter? Having Durant catch the ball beyond the three-point line, while Westbrook tries to shield him? Now, if that was Durant's decision to shoot the ball like that, then all blame should fall on him. Honestly, I would've given the ball to Westbrook and have him drive to the basket. I know he's dealing with all types of criticism throughout the postseason, but he still had a good game yesterday.

--

Heh, I still want the Mavs to win, but I would really like to see a seven game series here. The playoffs have been awesome so far and I don't want it to end. .

You mean James Harden?

The issue with OKC right now is inexperience. A year or two, and OKC will be a top-5 team if they can keep things going. Not top-5 in the West, but in the NBA.

Ha. Rick Harden. . . where did I get that from.

But yeah, I totally agree with you.

OKC's was way worse because they were up by 15 with under 5 to go.

And at home too.

The Heat are likely to win it all at this point. Whatever you want to say about the nature of their arrangement, it is clear that they have too much talent.

Very true, I hat when people complain about the Heat. The goal of every GM/Coach/Owner in all sports is to assemble the best team possible.

You can stop one superstar. You can even stop two superstars if your defense is good enough. But three superstars? Nah... not much of a chance, really.

I'm not ready to hand it to the Heat just yet. The Mavs (and Dirk in particular) have been on fire lately, and they have a seriously deep team. It certainly won't be a walkover, that's for sure.

The only way I see the Mavs beating the Heat is if they can outscore them. I don't think they have enough on defense to slow those guys down.

First of all, Chris Bosh is NOT a superstar. Let's get that out of the way.

If there's one team that can beat the Heat, then it's the Mavs. The Mavs hold a huge edge in the fact that they actually have a bench. Plus, there's no way the Heat can match up at the point. They shouldn't be able to match up with Chicago at the point, but Chicago pretty much gave up after game 1.

The Mavericks bench blows the Heat bench out of the water. LeBron, Wade, and Bosh can't play 48 minutes every night. And when they sit down, the Mavs' incredible bench will give them a HUGE boost. Not to mention that the Mavericks, if any team in the league, are every bit as talented as the Heat.

Does anyone else think that if the heat win the championship, it cheapens the NBA? I remember when teams became great through the draft, like the Lakers with Kobe Bryant, the Cavaliers with LeBron James, the Spurs with David Robinson and Tim Duncan, and heck the Bulls with Michael Jordan and the Rockets with Hakeem Olaujawon. Team's used to become great through the draft. I'm really frustrated with this free agency thing. I'm a Celtics fan, but the Big Three wasn't cool in my opinion. Though I appreciated it.

I don't think it cheapens anything if the Heat win. There's nothing wrong with paying guys to play for your team, because that's the point of free agency. If you can pull it off, then more power to you. Regardless of your drafting prowess, every team wins based on free agency.

Why isn't he? He's always been a superstar. Just because he plays on a team with Lebron and Wayde doesn't take that status away. He's been a wee bit inconsistent these playoffs, but you see what happens when he's on.

Because Bosh can't carry a team. He's a very good player, and one of the best players in the league. That said, I can count the NBA's superstars on one hand, and he isn't one of them. He's not synonymous with the NBA, he never has been.

He's a solid 20/10 guy who was known for his dunks in Toronto, that doesn't make him a superstar. He's certainly getting better with age though.

There is no body on the Mavs that can carry a team either,Dirk is top 3 in big men but I can't see him carrying a team they way Lebron or D Wade can.

It doesn't matter how teams get put together, its the job of the management to assemble the best team possible.

If anyone can beat the Heat its the Mavs, whoever D's up Dirk might be the winning or loosing factor in that series.Still I don't know if the Mavs will be able to stop both Lebron and Wade, it might be too much to handle.
