NCR in Fallout 4

Caesar wins, they're going to head West, not East. Caesar loses, not only do they not care about anything east of Colorado/New Mexico, but they aren't in a position to move.

I imagine there's the slight matter of the Legion standing between NCR and the east...

Sure they would. I am not really suggesting they would go East...which faction DO you like?

I hope not, I'd rather have Enclave back then NCR and even that's a bad idea.

NCR was barely holding in NV. For a faction that is making a go at being a nation state, I don't see the incentive for traveling all the way East. Surely, if they are used in a future Obsidian title, they would highlight their activity much more to the west.

The NCR has Vertibirds (captured from the Enclave), but for a number of reasons how likely is it that the NCR decided to write one or two off by flying them 3,000 miles (I think, but don't quote me) to see what is happening on the east coast.

So yeah while they have them, its unlikely to be viable use of what is a limited resource.

I like the NCR a little better, but neither of them would ever make it.

I doubt we will see any more west coast factions turning up in Boston, Midwestern BOS is a possibilty hinted at with the airship (+ vertibird) and the power amour guy walking with a Super Mutant in the trailer.

NCR will likely make a return if we see another NV style Obsidian game after Fallout 4.

I think a good indication of how long it would take to travel from coast to coast would be to figure out how long it took ED-E to make the journey, and then -probably- double that number for any humans making the trek.

Best guess, three to four months for an expedition to make it to the eastern seaboard, so it's possible but they won't be there in any great numbers..

edit

Also, the wasteland survival guide made it from the East coast out to New Vegas, so someone is making the trek somehow.

I don't think we'll see NCR, at the most we'll hear something from an npc and that's it.

I'd assume that is more a case of different traders gradually moving it across the US rather than someone making the trip in one go.

The NCR having a presence in Boston or the East Coast for that matter would be nonsensical - What could they possibly gain from stretching out so far? They struggle now keeping the order in their own lands. I just don't think it would be possible for them to start pushing that far from Cali so soon

I can't imagine we'll be hearing much about the NCR, let alone seeing characters affiliated with it. It's not like the NCR was new lore in New Vegas that Bethesda can and will start using in their Fallout games - they were a major faction in Fallout 2, and despite this Fallout 3 only had one passing reference to them in a Brotherhood of Steel terminal at the Citadel. They're on the opposite side of the country, and while they've been expanding eastward they haven't even reached the Midwest yet - largely due to Caesar's Legion which will still be there as far as we know.

I don't see why the New California Republic would be all the way on the east coast as thin as they were supposedly spread in New Vegas. I also think the west coast, and east coast Fallout stories should remain completely separated for the sake of lore.

NCR have no business on the east coast. They can't even handle what they have on the west coast.

Of course they could. But the most impact they could have on the game would be a minor side quest. They might even serve as an interesting source of information on the Mohave before the NCR arrived. Just don't expect to learn anything about Fallout NV from them because they left long before Courier 6 woke up with a headache.

I didn't see any vertibirds (from ncr) flying around in NV you?

If they had vertibirds they would just bombed The Fort and Mr House but they didn't.

Why didn't they use those in their war against Caesars Legion ?

They could just bomb them without taking casulties.

No. Please no. For the love of No, just no. The NCR is bound to the west coast. So, no. Also, Bear Force One is the presidental Vertibird, reserved for being blown out of the sky to kill Kimball.

They had a single Vetibird for the President, not even some for his escort and Protection.I doubt that they have more than 1 or two.

Resources gained from the Enclave and whatever the Brotherhood had left over in the form of Enclave technology the NCR basically gained or repaired via killing both groups. They do have them but do not use them unless for high value assets. Keep in mind they only used it on the President of the NCR (High ranking asset.) which can set their precedent of using such a limited resource.

Bomb the strip? The Mojave is a [censored]-hole without that tourist attraction as well as Hover dam. They only want it for those two reasons. Three if you count them pumping the water back home. Resources are the only reason they are there; money included. Not to even mention the likely hood of My. House saving anti-air capabilities somewhere which is quite possible.

If i remember correctly Mr house securitrons were pretty much useless in the begining of the game , they had no rockets, no machineguns just a crappy pistol.

I'm wondering why the NCR didn't annex New Vegas in the first place? (they have enough troops and fire power)

And the Strip familys are no match for a regualar army armed with heavy machineguns and rifles.

Edit:alright maybe his anti-aircraft system could have stopped the vertibirds, but what about the Fort?

As everyone has pretty much said, it makes no sense for the NCR to be so far east in any capacity. They're struggling on the West Coast. And really, instead of recycling factions from the West all the time, Bethesda should really try and make some creative factions of their own, that could possibly rival the NCR and/or Caesar's Legion. When F3 came out, it's lack after 200 years of any progress, was a big source of dislike for that game, by a lot of players. So instead of recycling, Bethesda should really put some work, and hopefully they have in F4, into making new and interesting factions that are powerful. Besides the Institute as an obvious powerhouse.

I would like to see a Victor, sent by the Boss to contact some Old Friends at the Institute.

Legion is closer to the east, if any faction from the west has sent scouts it'd be them and I doubt they'd even travel so far as to reach the coast before turning back.
