Can't agree with you more. Why make it hard for a consumer to give you their money? Seems like an odd biz stratagy.
On the flip side, I'm sure the limited availability makes those who have the shirts that much happier that they have one.
I really love the art direction of the fallout series and I would love if they sold more promo items.
+1
Tossing my hat into the ring on this one, it seems there is some good money to be made on paraphernalia with the right game. I can understand though the risk involved in expanding the business to include more types of merchendise. Also if a game is a flop and they buy a ton of paraphernalia, they could get stuck with tons of stuff they can't sell.
But! If they make a deal with one of the big textile / custom shirt companies to merchandise this kind of thing for them, there would be less risk and we the people would get options on cool paraphernalia. I for one am all about it, I would buy shirts, a coat, bumper stickers, etc, etc. Perhaps as video games continue to grow in popularity we will start to see more depth to the marketing and merchandising of these games.
And one shouldn't forget that shirts, coats and bumber stickers are all forms of free advertising for the game houses! The more FNV adorns the walls of shops, shirts and car bumbers, the better!
