NCR's use of planes?

Well, it COULD just be because of the game engine. :hubbahubba:

Never fear chaps! The NCRAF will conquer the air and with the cry of "Tally ho!" we shall descend upon our enemies from the sun, and rain fire and brimstone upon them, for never will so much be owed by so many to so few... off screen and in passing conversation.

Well you'll be surprised at how sturdy some 'balloons' like Zeppelins really are. (Unless they are filled with Hydrogen).

if anything I would assume that they would have ground vehicles first, before moving onto air.. something which we have yet to see at all.

Since when is fallout tactics considered cannon? And yeah, fallout 2 did have one, but since they rebuilt most of the engine for fallout new vegas, you'd think they'd find a way to work a jeep or something in there! Or at least make an appearance like have a jeep or truck parked somewhere. =\

Yes, yes I do. I am not the only one but I seem to be the most vocal about.

Tactics is Semi-Canon

Bethesda has said the "High Level events" are canon which would mean the main story and characters.

:foodndrink:

I just feel there are some good stories there and Beth would be nuts to just write it all off and only have the MWBoS as a small group in Chicago.

There is nothing really against canon about Tactics. Only thing I think Beth does not like is the look of Tactics.

Yep, they disliked the look of tactics so much, that they used the Brotherhood Power Armor from it as inspiration for their 'redesign' of the Advanced Power Armor mk II...

... disliked it so much, that they followed suit and strayed away from the guy who did all the music in favor of something completely different.

Eh... oh well... it happens, now and again.

But whatcha gonna do? If they don't like it... they don't like it...

... no sense beating a dead horse or anything.

Yeah but keep in mind, in fallout 2 the enclave were STILL getting oil from that rig, even though it was totally destroyed, they had to move it somewhere else, like a refinery or on-shore storing facility.

No they weren't the oil ran dry and the rig was abandoned and then adapted by the Enclave.

Why, I think fattoler might be onto something here! I'm going to follow this wonderful mans idea! You see, I think that the enclave had the vertibirds, no? And they were being mass produced, am I wrong in saying that? I think somewhere along the way at the factory, it would have been easy for the BoS to slip a spy in and get the plans or something, ( plus look at the one(s?) captured in fallout 3: Broken steel! I'm not saying the brotherhood had the capabilities to make them right now, or even fly them, but they probably have the plans to do so.

Actually there is evidensc in ancient egypt that there was beings with the knowledge of flight.Artifacts obviously resembling aircraft were found in a dudes tomb.So the knowledge of flight has been around for ages.So if your wondering if aliens colonized earth theres your evidence :P.It looks like a golden bird with swept wings and a very 1950's jet look to it

Bull-sheeyit. We weren't colonized by aliens...

... you see, what happened is that our world was ALREADY consumed by a nuclear war... thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years ago. Almost all traces of that lost civilization have been destroyed, buried, and forgotten. What few relics and ancient stories remain, have been passed down throughout the generations as inspired thoughts, or a work of art. It's in our religious dogmas and our ceaseless asking of the question 'why?'

We have become what we are because, in sensing their imminent demise, those who came before saw fit to leave us clues...tucked away not in ancient tombs or temples... but instead embedded in our very genetic code.

Now, on a more on-topic note, since things seem to have gotten slightly derailed there at the end...

The Enclave could -not- have had the resources to construct a fleet of vertibirds, develop and prototype not one but TWO new power armor models... and maintain an active, standing army all from aboard that oil rig alone.

The fact of the matter is, the rig may have been HUGE... but it just plain and simple wasn't -that- big.

They have to have had labs on the mainland. There HAVE to be population centers, from which they get their recruits. There obviously need to be factories for the manufacturing of their weapons and armor and vehicles... all of which it is openly stated they have the capability to produce... so yeah... even if I wasn't one of those strange folks who wanted to see the Enclave from a different point of view than 'Generic Bad Guy #2...logic dictates there is much more to them than initially is let on, by both developer and game statements.

As for the NCR? I think they may very well maintain a small fleet of aircraft... but in all likeliness, it's probably nothing more than the same salvaged crap as their Power Armor... BoS leftovers.

Eh.... it's hard to say for sure...
