Post » Sun Sep 27, 2009 6:55 am

wow, everywhere i post these pics, people are ragging on the poor pistol! it was a dollar, and i wont use it until i've made it looks considerably different (i was planning upon extending the barrel, as well as other things) don't worry guys! :)

No time for descriptions, off to the con in two or so hours, and going to be hand stitching a few parts on the way!
i'll share some photoshoot work when i'm back

Holy [censored] crackers, but I do think you messed up on one thing, I don't recall the rangers using jeans.

you may want to recheck the art and in game graphics Boradam...

anyway costume was a big success, my coat turned out REALLY comfortable, i may make a second, minus the battle damage to wear casually.

You know, I just realized that this should probably be in the Fallout Artwork section, it'd probably get more comments and views there.

No, just kidding. But that's how much I would pay for one on my birthday. Amazing job!

Did your mother tell you about shoulder pads? That's all you need to get it prefect.

That's really looking awesome. In fact, I think it looks better on YOU than it does in the game. Frankly, the actual version of this outfit in game was a little disappointing to me. I felt it just did not live up to all the renderings and what not released before the game came out. I just don't think it reaches out and grabs me in game like the promo shots do. They look awesome, but in game not so much so. Oh well, great job!

Absolutely. The in-game duster is flared at the bottom for some strange reason, which makes it look kinda goofy. Looks like a cross between a super hero in tights and the bad guys in Killzone.

i would agree that the CGI and concept art renders are better, but the obsidian engine doesnt work well with long flowing objects such as capes, dresses and long coats.

btw, friend also made an animated gif,

considering that the armor is from the ribs up, shoulder pads and on the back, it goes down to the shoulder blades, with straps that hold it all in place, it's not an exceptionally hard rig to build.

once i'm done with a few projects on my list, i can go back, and try to design a foam build for the combat armor.
the nice thing is that if i were to make a few, people could have them customized to be Talon, NCR, Reilly's rangers, Brotherhood or just generic.
