NCR veteren Ranger vs. Legion Centurion

umm may i ask what a straw man argument is.

A straw man is an argument fallacy in which one misrepresents or demeans someone or something else in order to make their position seem weaker. Although I would say that your argument was more of a hasty conclusion.

yes because there is proof why it has its conclusion.

People settle down, this is becoming almost a war
I think the big thing it majorly comes down to the person.
A frightened NCR vet vs a stalwart Centurion? Probably the centurion
Locked and loaded, truly elite Veteran vs a unsuspecting centurion? Probably the vet.

Even the Legionaries say no one has ever defeated a Ranger in single combat after killing the Ranger girl in the arena.

That made me lol, I was expecting a huge fight and it was over in seconds.
*Power attack*
*ranger down*
*attack, attack, attack*
*ranger dead*
that was fun...

But yeah, realistically the edge belongs to the Ranger Veteran. Tying pieces of armour together is scary but ineffective, their preference for melee would be foolish unless they got the jump or were at close quarters (bear in mind they are trained to fight as such and would be happy to face off against a rifle at ten feet).

So, unless the centurion gets the jump or has very good cover on approach I would think the ranger veteran would have a consistent advantage.

Courier
VS.
Legate Lanius

Courier armed with an Anti-Materiel Rifle, AP Rounds. Combat Armor MK. II, Reinforced/Helmet
Legate Lanius armed armed with the "Blade of the East". Legate's Armor/Helmet

Battle begins.
Courier: *Gunshot* *Pulls back bolt while backing down*
Lanius: *Tries to attack*
Courier: *Gunshot* *Pulls back bolt while watching Lanius's body hit the ground*
Courier: *Picks up sword and helmet*
Courier: *Laughs at mustache*

Courier Wins!

Centurion wins, because they are tougher, more experienced, more skilled, more badass, and because 1 less DT doesnt mean crap when he sees you as kill number 984.

A ranger has never met the likes of a centurion either. A piece of ranger gear is even a part of the centurion's armor.

Do I need to remind people that a veteran's armor is old LAPD riot armor and jeans?

having a fancy suit and a gun doesnt mean you win.
centurions are superior in strenght, tactics, and have far more combat experience than any fancy veteran ranger.

The VET never gets Scared.

@Sportnlife thats so true that the Legionnaries have never defeted a Ranger because there that good. IF they cant Defeat just one Ranger how could they defeat a VET.

Yah but the NCR is skilled in Meduim and Long range and i would say that They would be also skilled at close quarters to but not as well as the centurion.

Some people seem to think that guns + awesome gas mask dude= touch of death combined with the force of a thousand suns, they are not that great, no armour of the NCR's can withstand a chainsaw or thermic lance.

No armor can also stand a chainsaw battering into you. Also, an AMR, you're probably going to just use it on a headshot anyway, I mean, it's scoped after all.

To bad its one shot one kill and you would have to get up close with that Chainsaw also It would take a little while to get through the armor.

Ranger Veterans are the baddest mofo's in Fallout. Black armor + Rodeo Jeans and IR-Gasmask > Power Armor.

Centurions are nothing special to me. Aurelius of Phoenix is a whiny little [censored]. ALTHOUGH, there armor does look pretty darn good with the T-51b. Big points, because I don't like the slow speed of power armor itself even if the helmets are great.

Appearance wise:

NCR Ranger Vet: Generic FPS "DIS GAI IZ SO LEET CUZ HE GOT DAT BLAK ARMUR AND GAS MAESK"
Centurion: Mad Max Raider Armor

Thats my opinion anyway.

[Medicine 80] The courier killed himself with a gunshot to the head shortly following the homicide of the three centurions. He most likely suffered from severe depression brought on by his tramatic experience of being shot in the head.
[INTELLIGENCE1] the courier counted the wrong amount of enemies tut.

I know my post was off topic, but I know what thread I'm posting in. The Courier VS. Legate Lanius is somewhat related to NCR Vet. Ranger VS. Legion Centurion in my mind.
