NCR veteren Ranger vs. Legion Centurion

Post » Mon May 11, 2009 6:03 pm

I wonder which one of these two people would win a NCR Veteran Ranger or a centurion.

NCR Veteran Ranger- Weapons- Brush gun, Ranger Sequia, AMR, Trial carbine, and Assault Carbine. Armor- NCR combat Armor and ranger helment has a DT of 24.

Legion Centurion- Weapons- Hunting Shotgun, Thermic lance, and Chainsaw. Armor- Legion Centurion Armor ( helmet included) DT of 23

Both of these Warriors here have a wide array of weaponry to kill each other and both have good Armor.

The question though is who would win? Maybe in a 1v1 or 2v2. Who would come out Superior!!

Give your full opinions and ideas.

Ranger because the Centurion has to get up close to do any real damage while the Ranger is proficient in sniping and could probably pick the Centurion off before he got close or at least weaken him enough that even if he got close enough he'd still win in close quarters.

Plus the armours better, not by much but perhaps it'd make the difference.

NCR Veteran Ranger because those brush guns are deadly, so they can kill the Centurion quickly. Most Centurions use the melee weapons, a Vet. Ranger can just pop their head before they get close.
Centurions use AM Rifles and Super Sledges also.

yes even if that Centurion would have the slightest luck to get past his Superior sniping skill. He would have to deal with the Ranger Sequioa DUN DUN DUN DA.

@Arva yes that centurion would be like whats that muzzle flash over there and then BAM headshot bye bye Centurion.

Although you didn't state where they were fighting... If it was in a small room the Centurion would most likely win but if was out in the rocky Wasteland the Ranger would win.

Centurions are close combat fighters, The Ranger would pick him off with Brush Gun, Ranger Sequia, or AMG before the Centurion could do any real damage.
All though I'm sure if the Centurion had surprised the ranger and got him with his Thermic Lance, the Centurion would probably win.

Thermic Lance? Super Sledge is a one hit kill on almost anybody in the game if your Melee Weapons is 100 and Strength is 10.

Lets say that it would be in a nice sized medium area. I dont know where so give some suggestions. but thats kinda cheap to catch him off guard.

Camp Golf Courtyard where all the tents are. Perfect for vertical combat. Centurion can hide behind tents for cover, lol.

I did the final mission (NCR side) with a trail carbine and ranger armor. Centurion's didn't stand a chance. So on a one-on-one I'm guessing ranger would win.

Voted for legendary bloatfly for the lulz.

That depends on the situation.
-Is the NCRVR armed with an Anti-Materiel Rifle, a 45-70 Brush Gun, or a Ranger Sequoia?
-Is the Centurion armed with a Heat Javelin or a Marksman Carbine?
-Is this a long-range snipe-fest or a bloody melee?

1. The NCRVR would OWN with the AMR at long range, the Brush Gun at mid-range, and the Sequoia in a handgun fight.
2. When the Centurion gets the drop on the NCRVR below 100 yards, he'll aerate the VR with the Marksman Carbine, or impale and fry him with the Heat Javelin.

Why would the Legendary Deathclaw not attack the Vet. Ranger, if they were on teams?
Here's a good fight though
Level 34 Courier
VS
3 Centurions
........ *gunshot* *gunshot* *gunshot* *gunshot*
Courier Wins!

The ranger has better health and armor so the only way it would be close is if the centurion got up close and even in that case the ranger would still win because of the little beast called the ranger sequoia.

Legendary Bloatfly beats Chuck Norris, so neither Legion nor NCR stands a chance against it.

The rangers are good shooters and what not , but most of them are like ghouls or something , they are like 150+ years old. They are fragile. The only thing holding them together is the armor XD. At least the legion veterans are young and athletic and they truly are tough to kill .That's just the way i see it , Peace !

...How did you work that out? Only Ghoul rangers are at Echo due to the radiation there; the rest are all human.

Looks like no ones posted this yet..
NCR rangers have a bonus DR of 30, which boosts their DT to about 38+.
They have either AMR, brushguns or ranger sequoia' so my reckoning they would win in game as things stand.

Depends on the situation.

If there's a wide open space between the two then Ranger wins.

If they are in a building/rocky outcropping/close quarters, Centurion wins.

The Veteran would win no matter what, because obviously they have better armor and more powerful weapons with longer ranges, so the Vet could just snipe the centurion before he could even say "damn". The Vet would also win in CQB cause if I remember correctly after I killed the ranger in the arena at the Fort, every soldier in the legion kept stating how they thought it was impossible to beat rangers in one-on-one melee/unarmed combat
