Necessities of Morrowind: Renting a room

Post » Fri May 21, 2010 1:22 am

Can I rent a room in Arille's Tradehouse at the start of the game? I talked to everyone in town but couldn't find anyone who gave me the option. I got a bedroll but kept getting woken up by rats until I just slept in someone's house.

Thanks

EDIT: Can I edit the idiot typo in the title myself? If so how?

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8293 makes you able to rent a bed at Arille's Tradehouse.

Don't think you can - http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1825 makes it so you can get your own house in Seyda Neen, and ties up a hole in a Vanilla quest (in my opinion).

Vanilla Morrowind wasn't built with the expectation that you'd want to sleep in every town - so there's plenty of them that don't have rentable rooms. There are several mods that take care of this in one way or another, might want to try Empirical Morrowind and see if you can't find one that suits your personal tastes.

I get woken up by rats too when I sleep outside in a bedroll. Breakfast! Rawr!

I have some mod that adds a room at Arille's. No idea which one. But it seems to be overwritten by something else that takes away any way of sleeping in there legally.

CM Partners adds a bar out in the wild a bit. I forget where (I haven't really played the mod much) but it isn't far from Seyda Neen.

Thanks for the answers. One of the mods I have added a Guestroom to the building so I assumed it would be rentable, no matter though. I won't be here long and am squatting in Foryn Gilnith's house ATM.

Foryn Gilnith's house has been the first house for every character I've ever played. It only makes sense. :) Then once I've built up some armor and a decent weapon I go looking for something better. There are TONS of house mods so finding one you like shouldn't be too hard. :)
