Several years after the Oblivion crisis, Cyrodiil is back to peace and tranquility. Unfortunately, there are still dark corners and shady people. A small town in rural west Cyrodiil, named Greenvale(because of so much forest around it), is about to be overrun. A gang of necromancers who have become notorious in Cyrodiil-and other provinces- and has been known to destroy villages with necromancy and loot what's left. The necromancers have found Greenvale, and are preparing to destroy the town.

You are a villager of the small town of Greenvale, and you will have to try to survive the night from the necromancers. You can't run for help, the nearest town is Chorrol, and it's miles away from the town. If you and oother survivors manage to escape the town, you will use what you have and attempt to make it to Chorrol.
An alternative is to play as one of the necromancers, but it may be a little more challenging.

It looks interesting, but perhaps you could put in more story? This will be a VERY short lived RP without something besides a single fight between a few people and a ferocious band of necromancers, the necromancers being the obvious winners against unarmed and untrained civilians.

No, it's more than that. The idea is necromancers cast zombies, and other undead upon the town during the night. Eventually you'll wake up and figure out what's happened, and you'll attempt to reach other villagers, which will be difficult. You won't be killed as long as you don't go running in with a sword like an idiot. Stealth and teamwork is the name of the game. We'll all have different professions, and that will help us get through. If you're trapped in a room and you know nothing about housebuilding, the only way to get out is if you have someone helping you and knows the house up and down and can take stuff apart, like knowing where weak spots in the room are.

You need a little more experience, Pal :P

Wait a month or two, get some experience under your belt, then try an RP like this, with A LOT more backstory :)

Not being mean, Anun, just a lack of backstory, and aren't you new to TES forums.

The roleplayers here are much more serious, Friend. No offense fallout 3 roleplayers; the standards here are slightly higher, we like backstory, necromancers attacking for no reason is BAD!!!

If say, the leader of their gang got a vision from Mannimarco telling him to lead his necromancers towards getting an army of the dead so they can conquer the mages' guild, and as spread thin as they are they are attacking a small village, that would be great. Not all necromancers are evil, they just study the dead, they don't have to be displayed as evil liked Oblivion made them look.

Here is another one, The mayor of this village led a hunting squad into a nearby cavern, killing a necromancer, the necromancer was a member of their gang, so now they attack. Have some backstory, Anun, and you will do great, just try not to be too vague, but don't hold our hand either.

Hold on, hold on. I couldn't finish reading when I saw how you said 'not all necromancers are evil'. When did I ever say that they were? A group of necromancers, obviously not good, are destroying villages for land and territory. This isn't for religious reasons, it's for power. And it's most definately not for no reason. No necromancer would say, "Oh, hey look, a peaceful little town. lETs' KIlL eM ALLLL!!!!!!"

Your backstory was basically, "Necromancers are trying to kill you, stay alive."

I offered two ideas which may give it a backstory, which may make it a decent RP other than, "Ahhh necromancers are attacking, we gotta stay alive!"

Well I'd like a little backstory, it adds so much more than just "Defend youselves from the necromancers!"

Sorry... :(

Well, how do they benefit from taking over the village? Is there some sort of rivalry between them and another group? Understand that, from our perspective, it seems like the necros are being pricks for the sake of it.

This forum just CAN'T leave well enough alone.. Fine, I'll add some stupid story to help, since that's all people on this forum even care about. It's not like the actual roleplaying will be any different by adding it..

Wouldn't for rp purposes the villagers have no clue why they are being attacked?

Maybe you're not ready for TES forum, we are one of the best RP forums on the internet, we give a darn about that story, because it helps us RP. Sorry if you don't like it.

@Nilloc What if I want to be a necromancer? Also, what we know is not what our characters know...

Why would they?! Why would every villager in the town know the entire mapping of the next 48 hours of their life, and know exactly why they're being attacked? Why do people kill innocents? To take what they have. To make you all happy, I'll just make up some dumb backstory that probably makes no sense at all.

this is true, but the rpers also need a perception that the necros have a motivation. This can be done through a more detailed timeline, backstory, etc. Perhaps their can be rumors of foul rituals, something to imply the existence of a bigger picture.

Okay, STOP!

That's not neccessary and comes across as ridiculously elitist. Offer suggestions on how it could be better, or just don't post. Don't do this though...

Burntsierra has beaten me to the punch.

Some constructive suggestions and criticisms were made for anunknownrandomghoul, but many of the posts in here have been unnecessarily brusque, if not outright hostile. If you don't like someone's idea it's fine to make a suggestion or two, but if you feel they're not receptive to your ideas then maybe the thread isn't for you.
