Hi, need advice!

Ok, so after everything that's been going on with TESV I decided I'd rather play some more Morrowind.

Thing is, back in the day, I wasn't so much into mods and right now graphics weight heavily on my eyes.

What I need is advice on the following:

A) Give me the top mods (no links to other websites, links or posts, I want the mods titles or links) for the next issues:
  • Graphics - no fancy water or particles I just want cool models, faces, chars, etc. Sort of to make it look modern.
  • Gameplay - critical bug fixes and broken quests (I found one on theUESP - Morrowind Patch Project, is this the best one?)
  • Minor balancing/gameplay - I don't want 'oh lol OP' stuff, but would appreciate your suggestions on good/great mods/fixes that address in-game experience.

Ok, so thank you on your suggestions and please, refrain from directing me to other lists/posts because I tried to look into them but found myself going in circles into Oblivion because everyone suggested different stuff. I know most mods are graded or considered from a personal point of view but I'm not looking for subjective additions like: 'Here's 30 spells for mages because I play mage'. I want to actually keep the game as clean as possible but make it look better and get the most out of the game while not feeling like I totally gimped it out by adding random crap.

Hope I made myself clear, thanks for your support forumites!

You want advice, but then specifically say that you do not want any info that is actually going to help you.
??

Ok, well you can go to Planet Elderscrolls (PES) and view the mods by popularity, or see the ones that have entered the Hall of Fame.
Although many great mods will also not be featured in those lists.
And maybe your personal tastes are different, and you won't find anything interesting in the popular mods. Because there is no such thing as the "best mods.
Everyone suggests different stuff for that very reason! You have to make your own choices.

The only mods I think are essential are the two patches, MW Code Patch and MW Patch Project.
(make sure you get the current versions)
And Better Bodies, and a head/face replacer too.
If you want to update all the graphics you have many, many options available. Start browsing the Texture section of PES.
And install MGE if you're computer can handle it.

If you can swallow your pride to click a link, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1305729-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/ has the links to the patches, (and other things you'll need, like tools and info on how to find the exact mods you want)

I could have provided links to all those mods... but you do not want that. ;)

Hello and thanks for your suggestions, I had actually checked your list and I think I will go with BTB's must have mods since they're mostly graphic enhancements. Thank you for your well-detailed post on modding, it really helped me a lot.

As a side question my friend, could you point out what is the difference between Morrowind Patch Project (which I have already installed) and the one entitled as Code Patch, I'm not quite sure I've understood yet and am very wary when meddling with these kind of things. Also, is there any specific order in which I should have installed them? Many thanks.
