I recognize that this situation is my fault (I didn't research enough - just trusted the first article I read) but here's what happened.
1) I have played a ton of Skyrim on my PS3, including just about everything you can do in all the expansion packs, but I haven't played it on PC.
2) I had wanted to get it on PC (especially to use console commands, but also because I prefer PC gaming), and got really excited about the Special Edition coming out.
3) I was even more excited when I read that you could upgrade the Legendary Edition for free. I didn't look into it as much as I should have.
4) I recently bought the Legendary Edition from Amazon, with the specific plan of upgrading when the Special Edition was released. BUT...
5) ...I was busy with other things and didn't install the Legendary Edition via Steam on my PC until last night. At which point I found out that you only got the free upgrade if you already had it installed before October 28th - about 2 weeks ago, obviously.
So, I needlessly paid for the Legendary Edition when I might as well have waited and bought the Special Edition straight up. It was only $20 for the LE, but still.
Is there any easy way to fix this, or am I just out the extra $20?
