No you dont. For light armor you need the perks on the left side, thats light armor. The right side is for heavy, mainly. You want to aim for the Dragon Scale armor.Although Daedric is slightly better then dragon scale for heavy armor users, it takes a looooong time before you can make them compared to dragon scale, which you can make as soon as you ding 100, as by that time you have killed atleast 2 dragons, which is all you need to have enough bones and scales for a full set.As for light armor user.....just work out the left side, unlock it all.You need what, like 4 perks in total i think. You should NOT take the right side, like Dwemer, Orcish, Ebony and Daedric. Those are for heavy armor users only.Unless...you want to make the weapons.....................Remember that smithing is also for weapons. And a weapon you are not skilled in, with the perk, you can never get to legendary even with 100.But, once you have got the dragon scale, you can start going backwards in the heavy armor line, cause you want to get Daedric and possibly ebony, but skip the rest.Since you want to make youserlf a Daedric or Ebony bow or other weapons later.

If all your using is light armor, all you need are the light armor perks... Like, I only use heavy armor, so all I have are the perks on the right side of the branch. No need for light armor ones. Unless you use heavy weapons, in which case yeah you would need the perk to improve it to the max.

Thanks guys :)
So I still don't understand how to get my blade of woe etc to legendary? Plus other enchanted weapons and armour?
Also is the dragonscale better than ancient DB set and nightingale please?

i dont think your 1 handed skill is the cause, since that Talent tree only contributes to the actual combat/ combat uses

its a good question actually

Take a look at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing#Item_Quality.

As far as I can tell, none of the smithing perks helps improve artifacts, so you'll need 196 in smithing to make them legendary.
Use pots and gear with Fortify Smithing to reach that.

Hey guys quick question: If I have the "weightless heavy armor" perk and I smith myself the Deadric Armor set, does that mean that I'll basically have the best light (weightless) + heavy armor craftable?

" For instance, say you have a smithing level of 45(with Dwarven armor perk), and pieces of Elven and Dwarven equipment you want to improve. With appropriate supplies, you would improve the Dwarven to Exquisite, but the Elven only to Superior.
Values higher than 100 can be attained using "Fortify Smithing" equipment thus allowing any item to be made Epic or Legendary. With the appropriate perk, values continue to increase at the rate of about +0.2 per skill point for Armor, and +0.1 for other items. "

yeah that explains it :D

The higher your blacksmithing, the higher you can upgraded it.
But in order to upgraded it twice as much as your skill (Legendary at 100), you need the perk.
So whatever metal that weapon of yours is made of. you must have the corresponding perk in order to make it very good.

Dont worry too much about it, Im sure your self made daedric or ebony weapon will be better.

You can make ittems better then legendary by using potions and enchantments.
They will still be called legendary though.

Otherwise, ALL armor and weapon you improve once you have 100 smithing, and got the corresponding perk, WILL be legendary.

That is false! You should take HEAVY armor side even if you are going to wear light armor. You can not go backwards in the heavy armor line. If you choose light armor side, your miss two levels of better weapons.

There's no reason to go light side currently, going heavy gives you the best armor for both light and heavy, while going light side gives you the best light armor but the third best weapons.

And yes, with that perk(conditioning) the daedric armor you wear - which has the highest armor rating of any crafted armor and probably of all armor - will weigh nothing.

Though for eberything else (noise, what perks work with it and the like) it still will be an heavy armor even if it doesn't cut in your weight allowance.
