Need Best settlement link suggestion?

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:20 am

I have around 15 settlements. And want to link them up. But do not want to use the settelers from the big locations like the castle and sanctuary hills. So they can have Max settelers.
Any advice hints and tips please?
Ps. Play on ps4.

I think this is meant for Fallout 4. You may want to have this moved to that thread.

I reported it to a moderator for you. Rohogh seems to have handled it. You just have to be aware of what part of the forum your in as there are multiple sections and sub levels.

Supply chains are two way. So run them from your smaller to your larger.

They're also transitive so if you have one from a to b and one from b to c, all three are connected.

Like bottle.capper mentioned, supply lines are transitive.

If you don't want to use your major cities then:

  • build a recruitment station at one of your other settlements

This can be a little difficult in some settlements where you can't find the materials, so try to link supply lines to a new settlement so you can set up the recruitment beacon easily. Once you have that new settlement recruiting you can use most of that population for supply lines.

  • build some auto turrets for defense so you have more settlers for supply lines.

Another thing. I usually have Hub bases, where all my Provisoners are going to head to. Starlight Drive Inn, Greentop, Hangmans Alley and the Castle are the most centrally located areas within their zones, which are to me the top left, right, and bottom left right areas of the map.

So as said send your Provisoners from your smaller settlements to these hubs and then just connect each hub to each other.

I will always pick one guy from each settlement to be a provisioner and send them all to sanctuary. Eventually I can't send new provisioners to sanctuary so I just go with Red Rocket. This way each settlement has its own provisioner, and they all end up hanging out at the bridge in sanctuary where I build a Caravan Depot as well. This lets me find them much easier, and I am always running across some provisioner as I'm wandering the wastes.

I prefer to use hubs, have 2 larger settlements who main purpose is to house and feed provisjoners, this is not the main base where you keep followers and have lots of shops as it will eat up most of the population.
