This time I ignored the main quest until the last and everything worked ok . Now that I am at level 72 and started on the M.Q. line I cannot capture dragon souls . Everyone I kill just lays there so the quest will not update . I updated the one at Western Watch Tower by use of the console but I do not want to do this all the way through the game . I wanted to use the console to add dragon souls to my inventory but I cannot find an I.D. # for them . I have searched through the UESPWike and this forum with no luck . I have been playing Skyrim since it first came out but I have not run across this problem before .

Would someone know the I.D.# for souls or maybe another fix for it ?

so you got to lv 72 without ever facing down a dragon? dragon souls to my knowledge can be gotten from any first time slain dragon (location dragons respawn with no soul if you collected it already)

Otherwise if you did the MQ far enough to get dragons to appear, and you have killed a lot of dragons then check your shouts menu, you probably have a ton of souls to spend.

Or you have a conflicting mod of some sort.
