I need to edit the place where Morrowind installs to.

I need to change the directory in which Morrowind installs to from C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind to just C:\Morrowind in order to use the Overhaul mod but it won't let me change it, usually you can browse folders to change it's directory but as shown here: http://i.imgur.com/1Mfu5.png for some reason I can't browse files in order to change the directory, it's just set on going to that directory no matter what.

It is probably set in the registry. From my experience, where you install doesn't matter. Move your Morrowind folder to anywhere freely after installing it. I have probably 6 copied Morrowind installs.

I know but for this mod it says it's important that it says out of the program files folder because the mod can't affect it from there

You have to change the path in the registry. You can use regedit.

BTW: if you're speaking of the MGSO mod, I just installed it in the default Steam location (in program files (x86) ) and had no problems so it may not be necessary to move it.

That's the one I'm trying to get, I don't understand why I need to change it but I was following the vid exactly since I already messed up a few times, did you use a video or anything or just the readme that came with the download?

Edit: I have the GOTY disc version so Idk if that matters but I messaged the video maker and asked him so I'll find out later

I took a look at the readme but mainly I just ran the .exe. There was no work on my part at all. If you're sure you have an updated DX9 , framework and Java, just give it a go.
