It is a really great grass/trees mod. Using it with Fellout and the wasteland is awesome!

For a more stark wasteland kind of grass look, use

Green green grass of home
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1214

Greenerworld
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2525

Green World
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2456

I have used all three at one time or another and each brings a slightly different look while not turning the landscape into something like Oblivion.

It looks good but it's not exactly a Wasteland anymore though.

But it's not The Wasteland anymore, it's now The Lush Paradise. The Green Green Grass of Home is perfect for me, especially the Recovering Wasteland option. Just a hint of greenery in an otherwise bleak landscape. Though I do wish I'd see the odd tree starting to grow some leaves here and there.

it fits into lore if you consider the oasis quest

Well no. If the Wasteland was already lush and green, they wouldn't be having the debate about whether to let Oasis expand beyond that one small area.

You can go back and forth on that argument. One can use lore to trump science and science to trump lore.

How severe was the bombings? How much more so than in Nagasaki where people now live and it is not 200 years later.

How much life could be supported by zero vegetation growth? There are a lot of people in the 'wasteland' and they all cannot be living off of extremely deadly mole rats and 200 year old pork n beans. That much radiation in the water would kill algea as well. Would the minimal grass be enough? Is there still a rain forest somewhere? Where are the mutant trees?

For myself I found the wasteland too sparse and so added the recovering wasteland grass and am currently playing with trees from http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2525 - the reason I chose that was because the trees have collision and so you can actually hide behind them. They are actually there instead of ghost images.

The problem is that they are pretty generic. and all the same kind of tree. I also wish there were less of them.

if you completed the quest and chose to let harold expand the wasteland with nature it makes sence

Well no. There would be no reason to let Harold "expand The Wasteland with nature" as it would already be done. That whole quest line makes no sense at all if everything is already lush and green.

Yeah, I like those as well. Just a bit of green to add a touch of life to The Wasteland, but not enough to ruin the image of a devastated landscape.

I tried that one a short while ago and didn't like the trees, the bark looks really strange to me. I also agree there are too many of them. It would have been nice if he had just added some leaves to a few of the existing trunks dotted around the land.

I think he is trying to say - these mods would make sense to add after completing the quest and letting swamp thing, er uh harold, expand his roots. Then the place would be greener.

As for trees ... Belanos or anyone - if you find a sparser tree adding mod I'd like to know.

These greener mods are OK if your doing a TC type thing like Zombie Apocalypse.

I may do a playthrough with http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6654

I wouldn't mind finding one myself.

Wow, that looks pretty cool. No pun intended. And certainly realistic for the aftermath of an all out nuclear war. I don't think I'd like to play with it myself though. I'm currently working on my own version of a Fellout type of mod, and snow doesn't quite fit what I have in mind. Besides, I can't stand the stuff. That's one reason why I'm living on the West Coast. We rarely get any here. :goodjob:

You are working on a fellout type mod? ... goody!

I look forward to what it becomes if you decide to share. I used Fellout for about a year and loved it and currently am really into Xepha's Dynamic Weather. It is great for the variety to weather it offers but I do miss the removal of all green (there is a green remover but not as extensive as fellout).

Best of luck on that.

p.s. - does the west coast of Canada not snow often?

I live in San Diego - never snows here. Last time I was in Vancouver it was cold and I remember it snowed. It was great!

Yes. While I liked the idea behind Fellout, I didn't really care for the way he did things. For one thing, he was after a Mad Max/Sahara Desert kind of look, while I would prefer a warmer, more natural look. After looking at the inner workings of Fellout for awhile, I realized that I could do the same thing myself. As long as there's no scripting involved, I'm fine with making changes to the game. So I've been at it now for a few days, and I'm getting pleased with the results. I still have a long way to go though, it's a very finicky process and there's been a fairly steep learning curve to working with weather.

I look forward to what it becomes if you decide to share.

I do intend on posting it eventually, but it will be awhile. It's a really time consuming process. I have to quit the game, open up the GECK to make a minor adjustment here and there, then start the game up again and go through it all again until I'm satisfied. Which isn't proving to be easy to do, I'm being very finicky with it.

Sometimes, and it depends how far from the coast you live. I'm right by the ocean here so we don't get much of it. This winter we managed to avoid getting a single flake, which is how I like it. If it does snow, it's usually gone in a day or two.
