I need help [FCOM] Batched patch

Post » Fri May 06, 2011 5:34 pm

Well i have just got to the last part of installing FCOM the batched patch. to tell you the trouth i dont even know what it is but i have been following the installation guide letter by letter, untill now.

well i am on the first part of the batched patch thingymajig and it says

"# Start Wrye Bash and select your entire mod list (click on the first mod to select it and then scroll all the way down to your last mod and press+hold Shift and then select it).

# Right-click anywhere on the selected mods and select Mark Levelers."

my problem is on the second part "mark levelers" there is no mark levelers when i right click. the only thing close to that is mark mergables.

can anyone help me with this. i have looked at a diferent guide that it sugested but it says

"right-click on the Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select Update Patch"

and again there is no update patch and the only thing close to it is rebuild patch.

i realy need help here.

thanks if you can help

You need to "rebuild" the bashed patch. http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/finishinstall

Silly Wrye Bash people keep automating things that used to be manual, and renaming things because they think they need better names.

Anyway, the FCOM home page is a bit out of date, so be sure to check out the FCOM thread here on gamesas for updated info.

The main new information in that thread is about the Unofficial FCOM update, and updated information on the requirements for MMM and OOO, plus an install order recommendation.

Tomlong75210's guide is probably up to date with that information as well.

Since you left off trying to build the bashed patch, just scroll down to the "Bashed Patch" part.

In the Program you are using. Wrye Bash. IS a Very Good Readme. IS up to date enough and Extremely Handy . If you notice the Icons across the bottom. It is the last one the Blue circle with ?mark. That file is a must read. You can go get others views on the program BUT I think the Original Readme has Everything you will ever need to use this Program. IT is up to date with the new naming and how the Leveler.Deleveler what ever works.

you asked...
# Right-click anywhere on the selected mods and select Mark Levelers." All automatic now. IS in readme.

"right-click on the Bashed Patch, 0.esp and select Update Patch" Also in Readme/help file...Here is the excerpt from the File inside BASH

Patch Usage

• Select a Bashed Patch

• Probably Bash has automatically created one for you. If not, you can copy the blank one from Oblivion\Mopy\Extras to Oblivion\Data.

• Note that the author of the mod must be set to BASHED PATCH.

• Configure the Patch

• Right click on the Bashed Patch and select "Rebuild Patch..." This will bring up a dialog in which you can activate and configure various patcher components.

• To activate a component, just click its checkmark box.

• To configure a component, select it. Note that:

• Most components will try to automatically configure themselves, but you may still need to tweak their settings.

• Some components do not need to be configured (e.g., Alchemical Catalogs).

• Configuration of specific components is covered below.

• Build the Patch

• Once you have at least one component selected, the OK button will become enabled. Click on it to update the patch, or click Cancel quit without updating the patch mod.

This is of course much easier to read in the Original Doc cause it has Pictures to help you follow along. Hope this helps....

Did you install a UI mod, like DarNUI or Dark DarNUI?

If not, then you are probably looking for a missing master. A file that another file is dependent on.

Right click the "header" in the mods tab and choose "list mods", then post the list here. Also, look through it to see if it has any "missing master" warnings.

edit: Crash on exiting sewers: Probably didn't rename the MMM.bsa to "FCOM_Convergence_MMM.bsa". Part of the updated information in the FCOM thread.

What version of MMM are you using? If you are using the latest, 3.7pr3, then you have to download an MMM.bsa file to go with the ESM/ESP files.

If you used TheNiceOne's OMOD installer, then the BSA might have already been renamed. It's a 1.2GB BSA file, and should be named MMM.bsa or Marts Monster Mod.bsa or something similar. If you don't have it, then it is a must download.

The "header" in Wrye Bash is the bar at the top of the window that says "File" "Load Order" "Rating" "Group" "Installer", and whatever. Basically it's the titles for the different columns in the Mods tab.

edit: almost forgot, the other thing that can prevent the game from starting is a missing Font in the Oblivion.ini. That's why I asked if you used a UI mod, but since the game is starting now that's not the problem.

Check the first post here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1084290

You'll have to remove the MMM 3.5.5 you have now, and then install the version you download from that thread. I hope you installed with an OMOD because it will make removal much easier.

I apologize for you having to do this, but the MMM package was changed substantially when the BSA was introduced and it is required when you make the jump from 3.6 or below to 3.7.

edit: BTW, don't forget to grab the UFCOM package mentioned earlier.

Thanks :D

you have been a lot of help hopefully this should be the end of installing mods for me :D

If I can give a trick to you I suggest to follow this wonderful guide to install FCOM: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide
I didn't use Bain Packages but you can follow Part 0 - Part V for a correct installation.
To install Francesco's, OOO, Warcry you can follow this guide: http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html
To install MMM and FCOM use TheNiceOne omods: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/995334-mmm-and-fcom-omod-installers/. and read carefully the MMM readme and threads in the forum.
Regarding the Bashed Patch when I just finish installation I just check Leveled Lists, just to try the correct set up and later I try other settings.
I hope this will help you.

Deactivate the merged plugins. They have green text in Wrye Bash.

You Know, I don't Get that line. HOW....

First off IN order to actually see the file while Building the patch. you have to have it ticked. Ok so you just reBuilt your patch. Now what by the time the window closes and you can click on the Green files ALL you can do is change from a Plus Sign to a check mark. Thats it nothing else. So what am i missing. And it Automatically changes it to the Plus Mark. Same holds true for the New color Purple. Automatic to a DOT.

Edit to Add:
Or even if they are all unchecked and build patch to import they are all changed when its done...a popup asks to activate Bash patch and when done they are at there respective choices + or (.)

All green plugins should have the plus sign. That is what I meant. It looked like you had some mods active that should only be merged. Plus signs and dots indicate that the mod is virtually active in the bashed patch. They are not active. Oblivion does not "see" them (load their content.)
