Okay so a few moths ago my 560 ti went out on me and I've had to rely on my hd 4890. I've been saving up for a while now and was ready to buy a gtx 780 but then I looked at my rig and realized that my i5 750 was showing it's age. So I built a new rig around a 2500k. Unfortunately I only have about 100 bucks to spend on a card. It only has to last me till either Christmas or at latest February. I have narrowed my choices down to these cards.

Sparkle gtx 470 with a custom cooler. $115

EVGA gtx 560 superclocked (non ti) $100

MSI gtx 650 ti (non boost) $110.

My monitor res. is 1680x1050 and the games I play on a daily basis and would love to play at max or close to (no AA) are Crysis 1,2,&3, Battlefield 3, Blacklight Retribution, Diablo 3. Games I plan to play soon are Mtero last light and the new Bioshock. I'm leaning towards the 470 because of the custom cooler and slightly larger amount of Vram and I know I'll be able to overclock the hell out of it. Power draw isn't a concern to me nor is heat. But the gtx 560 is newer but all the reviews only show people getting a 100mhz o/c on it at best. I included the 650 ti because I can get one for 85 bucks. I've done all the google searching I can tolerate and am stumped here. I would like to hear from people who can give me an educated answer and I absolutley refuse to do AMD. Love my 4890 but I miss my dependable nvidia drivers.

Looks like the gtx 470 is the clear winner then. At 1ghz (I was only able to get my 560 ti to 900) the 560 ti only beats the 470 (stock) by a few fps. Once overclocked the 470 the 560 ti overclocked. Thanx for that link it really helped me make my decision.

Do they really get that warm. My first and only dx11 card was the gtx 560 ti. Now I'm a bit concerned, the case I went with isn't huge. That's the 470 I plan to buy. It's gonna vent a lot of the heat into my case too. I do have a test bench I could put it on for the time being till I buy a bigger case.

Well in some reviews people are getting 91 degrees Celsius and the card is rated for 104 so.... not as bad as my 7950GX2 at 120 Degrees Celsius xD

Yeah no doubt. Hook me up too. People need to learn to read the posts before commenting on them. Out of the three I can afford the gtx 470 is the clear winner but I am concerned about the heat. The cooler will vent most of the heat into the case. The 560 sc (non ti) is about 5-10 fps slower on average than the 470 but will produce far less heat. I am a graphics whore but not when the game runs less than 30 fps. So the question is, do I go for the more powerful heater or the less powerful cooler running gpu? I don't wanna buy the 560 SC and hope that I can o/c the hell out of it to make up for the lack of performance when I can just buy the 470 and get that performance out the gate. Like I said though, I can always put the rig on my test bench till I buy a bigger case. Hmmmm.
