Need help finding Imperial sword and shield

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 2:00 am

Is there any place to get an Imperial sword and shield other than through looting soldier's bodies or stealing? I know you get a free set of armour+shield when you first join the Legion but I just need the sword and shield (both heavy and light).

Me either. All I know is that he gives it to you as part of the Imperial Legion questline. Or at least gives you a "light, medium, or heavy".

Incidentally... does anyone know what the difference is if you say "medium"? I've only done light and heavy so far.

Medium is studded leather armour, same as Hadvar in Helgen. Not worth it though as it can't be improved like the light and hvy armour.

Go to a forge and make an Imperial sheild (under the "steel" catagory) 4 steel ingots and 2 leather strips. (I think its the heavy one but not sure.)
Imperial swords IDK they all seem to be had by looting or stealing (The shades in Meridia's Temple carry Imperial gear.)

I think there's a full set of heavy Legion armour with shield and sword upstairs in the New Gnisis Cornerclub.
Spoiler
Love the subtle Morrowind reference there, Bethesda! :tes:

I encountered several bandits south of Riften (three, to be precise) who killed some Imperial soldiers and took their armor. They said I violated the law and had to pay them, say, uh, 100 septims and they would let me go. I said I didn't have that and they attacked me (I had over 200k septims... but they didn't need to know). After I killed them I also found the bodies of the slain Imperial soldiers. The bandits had pretty much base (both Heavy and Light) Imperial armor and one of them was wearing an Imperial Officer's Helm - neat piece of armor to be honest! Maybe worth checking?

EDIT: In the beginning of the game you can get Imperial gear in Helgen, isn't it?

There is a Light Imperial Shield available from a Talos shrine near Froki's Shack, and a closed Imperial helm and sword.
EDIT ran game and verified it was a light shield.
