well, i remember playing with this console command when in tamriel rebuilt's test cell so i could get a look at all their monsters without getting attacked... it was a spell effect, or something... it was a "unique" chameleon effect, that made me completely invisible, i forgot what the command was and i cant find it anywhere... i dont even remember how i found out about it to begin with!

i dont suppose anyone knows a 100% chameleon effect i can add/remove from my character with no trouble?

im playing the hlaalu quests, and im trying to steal this stupid recipe... not exactly succeeding with it...

Well, as I can see you have no problem using the console you could always just console yourself to 100 Illusion then create a 100% chameleon spell for X amount of seconds. :shrug:

theres one thats: player->addspell "chameleon_100_unique"

then just: player->removespell "chameleon_100_unique" when you are done

Someone created a little mod just for this effect called the Ring of Obfuscation.

If you want, you can read the walkthru and go right to the ring and steal it, instead of doing the convoluted-looking quest.

Either a full Exquisite suite of clothing enchanted with CE Chameleon or Whitewalker, a Daedric Tower Shield and Exquisite Shirt should do it for you.
