Need help getting freeware arena to run

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 5:06 pm

Ok I saw those instructions on UESP.net to get arena to run on windows 95/98, but the thing is, when I go to install it says "can only install from floppy".What do I do?

WARNING: for those of you who dont know better, DO NOT mention DOSbox or the sticky, those instructions are for newer pcs like windows xp, they DONT work on Windows 95/98

One method I used to do was to copy everything from the disk to the hard drive, then click on the batch file for installation. If it was a dos game with 3 1/2 inch floppy disks, I would restart windows in dos mode, and do the install that way. If your system meets the requirements, it wouldn't hurt to get your hands on a cheap hard disk and a copy of DOS 6...

Then it's already installed. Just use the install.exe to configure the sound, and arena.bat to run the game.

When I configure the sound, Do you just exit out of the install menu or is there some way of saving it? Or does it save itself?

IIRC changing the settings takes immediately, so if I'm right you just exit.
