Need help getting with audio formating

Post » Sat Jan 23, 2010 3:55 am

I am having some serious problems trying to get any kind of custom made wav file to play in my mod.

I am attempting to set it up under audio / sound in geck, select my wav, hit play and nada. I even verified it does not play in game thinking it was just an issue with geck.

I have tried exporting the wav various different ways.

22k mono & stereo versions 16 bit PCM
44k mono & stereo versions 16 bit PCM

Can anyone please tell me what the magic export settings are or is there something else I am missing?

I am starting to think this is not an issue with the wav format

I tried extracting a wav from the sounds.bsa that I know works qst_lucky38alarmb.wav to be exact

I moved it into my current directory structure and tried setting up a new sound using this file. It still will not play.

Is there something I am missing here? Why can I not seem to set up a custom sound?

Someone please any info is greatly appreciated

When I added sounds to several mods of mine, I think I recall needing to create the sound in the GECK and then step back to FO3edit/NVedit and set the actual path to the .wav properly.

I think that is how it went anyway, the last time I made a custom sound and put it into the game was a couple months ago.
