Need help installing Unofficial mods

Post » Fri Aug 24, 2012 6:35 am

I want to install the unofficial mods for oblivion, however I'm in doubt about something. It says in the readme to extract to Bethesda works/Oblivion folder, but the steam version does not include "Bethesda works" in the path, and also all other mods I've tried before have gone in the data folder. Furthermore, some folders in the mod coincide with some folders that are in the "data" folder in my computer (for example textures, sounds). So it sort of feels logical to extract to 'data'.

Question> Should I do as the readme says and install to steamapps/common/Oblivion/ or, to steamapps/common/Oblivion/data?

Steam/steamapps/common/

For installing, however, you're better off using a manager such as Bash.

The Data folder contains all the content. That is where you install it to.

Umm, thanks, but I think you gave me both answers... So, is it extract to the Oblivion folder, or extract to the data folder?

I gave you the path. I then told you what files go in the Data folder. I also pointed you towards a better way of installing.

yes, use bash, if you start to mod you could like it, if you don't plan, well - oops there goes another save file
