Another day, another conundrum. My search of the forum yielded nothing on the topic of 1st contact with Father. Any help would be appreciated. Background as follows:

[am on a PC running Windows 10]

1) just entered the Institute;

2) immediately completed the 1st quest task, i.e. downloaded the network info for the BoS (assuming I surrender the data, don't know if or when);

3) followed the voice (Father's) instructions to the elevator and followed a corridor to another elevator that led me to a room with 3 doors (1 shut [jammed?]) and 2 locked requiring key) and (I assume) Shaun in a glass enclosed room with a crib;

4) I have T-timed there waiting for further instructions since a return trip found the elevator non-responsive/functional....

nothing has happened -- no further voice instructions, I have found no panel nor a key --nada/niente/nothing. So, frustration. --note, I do not look at "guides" to avoid spoiling info that may ruin that "I've never done this" experience that makes the game so enjoyable [and can be so frustrating]; however, you all tend to provide very exact answers to the questions that get me along to the next hurdle without spoiling the fun. I hope someone comes through again so that I can proceed with the quest.
