Need help regarding an RC plane battery and charger

Hey all, hopefully someone here has experience with this, because I just dun goof'd.

I bought the CE edition of Splinter Cell: Blacklist with the C147 Paladin RC plane. I was unpacking it tonight and, like an idiot, plugged the battery (11.1v Li-Po) into it's charger (http://www.ebay.com/itm/C147-Paladin-Splinter-Cell-Blacklist-Charger-by-Ubisoft-Item-5209L-/281162483034). I put both cables in, thinking both needed to be plugged in. The lights on the charger lit up and I heard a bit of a snapping noise. A bit of nasty smelling smoke came out as well. I'm pretty sure I popped a capacitor and I'm assuming the charger is totaled. Should I also replace the battery as well?

Still can't believe I did this... Ugh.

Thanks.

Edit: Popped open the charger. The capacitors seemed fine, but there was a charred bit under the plug going from the battery's charging port to the circuit board which seemed to be where the smell was coming from.
