Need help selling 400K worth of items to merchants

Post » Mon Jan 26, 2009 11:08 am

So, I have about 400,000 caps worth of items I need to sell, obviously there aren't any vendors with that many caps. I was talking with someone recently, Can't remember who, and they were talking about hoe you can sell items to a vendor till he's out of caps, wait a few hours, and repeat. How exactly would I do that, if it worked? Are there any other better ways to sell the items?

Um, you just sell your items until the other guy has no more caps. Then you wait a couple days (visit other merchants) and then repeat.

Are there any other better ways to sell the items?

Don't horde 400 000 caps worth of items?

I'm honestly interested in why you thought that was a good idea.

I never saw the Gun Runner vendor with more than 8000 caps. Given 400 000 caps worth of items, that's 500 trips.

It's only 37 items, and I got them all at once.

The items are 10k a piece... Looks like I might take a loss on each sale :(

I know what you're talking about, and those are unique items, I'd keep them in a safeplace if I was you.

There is also a Gun Runner at the 188 you can sell to. Off loading that much money is going to take time.

Thank you for this. I thought it was 72 game hours (this is actually longer, but more regular. I could develop a route :celebration: )

Or, you could just use the drop-down menu item in the editing bar under "Other Styles" to do it automagically.

Crimson Caravan can have up to 12k caps.

I have learned here (the Forums) that the amount is dependent upon Player Level.

They really need to put the Rock-It Launcher back in the game now that we have the ultimate projectile for it.

lots of merchants have 10,000 caps later in the game, lady gibson, gunrunners, hoover dam armory seargent, contreras and the doctor at mcarren airport, the doctor at vegas medical clinic, 188 trading post merchants, great khans, various traveling merchants that are at mohave outpost or 188 trading post or novac, its not hard to sell everything, just make the rounds, once you know of all the merchants its pretty easy, primm merchant, prospectors den merchant, mick and ralphs, brisco at novac, between all those guys thats a lot of caps, travel around selling stuff, then wait 3 days and repeat, but its better to sell stuff as you go insted of wating till you have too much all at once.

you could also use the items as a form of currency, you just have to buy 10,000 caps worth of goods, but it's better than selling them for half of what there worth just because that's all the caps a merchant has.

Wasteland Defense. *shrugs* That mod is a cap-draining monster, especially if you're planning to do a full-blown fort with everything including the kitchen sink. Of course, once you are done installing the kitchen sink, and your guards are up to snuff, then you'll probably stop spending caps... unless you want 100 scavengers of course..
