Alright well... I'm new to the forums so I guess the first thing I should say is hi!

But onto the topic at hand,

I'd like to create an NCR Veteran Ranger-type character... without actually wearing Veteran Ranger Armor. I know that sounds stupid but I don't want to have to wander into random towns and immediately get shot in the face for "being part of NCR" because I was wearing faction armor (good example being BoS before I get them to ally with NCR).

The outfit I'm aiming for is similar to NCR trooper or ranger armor combined with an NCR Veteran Ranger helmet (which, from what I've heard, does not count as faction armor). Any suggestions for how to go about this without using NCR faction armor?

Reinforced Armour Mark II?

You could possibly try using any combat armors, or if you're on PC, make yourself a special non faction aligned Ranger armor.

How would I go about making a special non-faction aligned Ranger armor. I have basic knowledge of Gamebryo console controls, if such is needed.

Can't help you there, I own a PS3, I cant PC game, so I dont know much about the games inner workings.

I guess I'll just wear combat armor MK II like valkebus suggested and ally NCR with the other factions BEFORE I pickpocket Veteran Ranger Armor off of the NCR. :hubbahubba:

You could simply be an NCR version of the Frumentarii and actually use disguises. Vulpes was smart enough to ditch his Legion armor whenever he entered the Strip.
