Need help with Hearthfire and other things

Post » Thu Aug 08, 2013 10:43 am

I just finished Dawnguard and ran into some nasty glitches that made me had to restart walking trough the whole darkfall passage mission all over again... Somy blood is boiling. I bought a house called Helj whatever Hall as it was my only option. But I want to own the lakeview house. Can I possibly own two homes?

My spous was complaining about having to fight bears spiders and crap to protect the kids >_>

There was some quest triggered where my wife gets kidnapped. So I set off to rescue her then 3 minutes later it auto-completed. Okay... So I went back home... The cabe where she was being held... She was nowhere. Great. So I had to load an earlier save, went and did some more quests, came back and that quest still wasn't triggered. I guess this quest just starts whenever it wants...? How does this work?

I also got the Ebony Blade from the whispering door quest. How do I make it stronger? Who do I have to kill?

You can own all three homes if you want. Just do quests for the Jarl of Falkreath.

For the Ebony Blade you need to kill friends, although the weapon doesn't even do much damage. 33 at most.

The jarl doesn't give me any quests. Its siddiquis or whatever his name is.

Land near Morthal and Falkreath is for sale, Winstad and Lakeview. Go talk to the Jarls there

The spouse kidnapping is radiant, bugged and random so you may or may not get it at any point.

You can kill any non-essential follower for the blade and if you have the enchanted smithing perk you can improve it. The amount of improvement depends on your skill level and any fortify smith potion or items you have.

It's Siddgeir. He doesn't have the option to buy a home? Check his steward, Nenya.

This is the second person in two days with this issue. What platform are you on and did you recieve the letter from Siddgeir?

This is the order I did it in my playthrough: Took Black Briar mead to Siddgeir.

Got quest to destroy bandit hideout.

Maybe another quest.

When I returned he had no quest to do, asked him if there was anything else.

Mentioned he needed a Thane. Told me to do favors for three people in the hold.

Did quests and received title and sword.

Afterward loaded DLC and got the letter. Returned to Falkreath and asked steward to buy land and she sold it to me, also received Rayya as housecarl at that time..

I only recieved the letter for helj whatever house.

I'm on 360. Should I just buy the mead and take it to him?

That will oil the gears as he will not give you any quests without that first quest, bring him a Black Briar mead.

Edit: I also did this on 360
