need help with side quests

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:50 pm

I've recently installed Daggerfall after several past attempts and hesitation due to graphics..and I'm liking it so far. although I'm having alot of trouble getting used to the quests and journal in the game. so far I'm level 7 and have 2 quests I want to persue but have no clue how.

One is from a temple of Dibella telling me to retrieve a stolen item from a man and only gave me his name and description (blond-bearded)...but where do I go from here? when i ask around town the option to ask about the man (under ask about people) never shows up, only shows the name of the quest giver.

The other is by a merchant sending me to kill a werewolf..I also don't know where exactly.

also...anyone know how can I see the current time of day? doesn't seem to be anywhere

Have you tried asking using that name? That might result in the dialogue option needed.

Strange. I've never had a quest that didn't mention the location to kill a monster, at least in the journal if nothing else. You may have to take the reputation loss on this one, but that should be easy enough to recover by doing more merchant quests later. Since most sidequests and guild quests are one-off quests rather than part of a questline, you're much more safe letting them go if you can't do them (same can't be said of the main quests, of course).

Click on the compass on the bottom right of the screen. That will give you the time, your location, your reputation with the region, and health.

You have to ask around the town you're in to find the thief in that quest, but NPC's can lie to you. Get a few opinions on where the thief is.

Do you have those reversed? There's a temple quest to kill a werewolf, and a merchant quest to find a thief.

The "L" key should show your Log, which is likely to name any dungeon you've been sent to, and the "I" key gives you Info, such as time, date, location, and local status with the law.

And two quests at once is likely to have one or the other exceed its time limit, which will also be in the log entry. I'd just do whichever has the most time remaining.

There's a temple quest to find a thief as well.

It's possible in the quest log that there's a name for a house instead and it's a little different to getting info about a particular person.

For people you use the "People Option on the left hand side
For houses use "general" Under "where is" or "location"
